Offline - Online - Restaurant Promotion

**I know that most of you wont be interested but I think there are many clever people here who can help me**

I live in Greece and my father has 2 restaurants in a small island with only 600 beds (that means that the island can have up to 600 tourist per day).

The first one is in the town of the island and it listed 1rst on tripadvisor for the island.
Last year we opened a new restaurant in the port. (doesnt go so well because all hotels are in town and there is no good transportation)

SO MY THOUGHTS

build a website for both restaurant and target keywords like "restaurant in (...)" (only 30 monthly searches)

then I thought about build a guide for the hole island and rank it for the island name (which I did) but I am straggling to rank because high autority sites rank on first page like booking tripadvisor etc

**I am not active work in the restaurant because I work as an SEO for a local agency but I want to help my father

I expect your thoughts and you can have a free dinner if you visit Greece

I would do just like that. I would create an awesome guide for entire island and entire region (all related) and all info available in public. Also about local tourist areas (all related and close) and just put a lot of information, custom pictures, videos, facts, what to visit and whatnot and of course promote your own restaurants. Outranking those general & booking sites should be easy afterwards, you just need a lot of content in the process and linking afterwards.

The tourists will speak different languages so might not understand the website?

Why not employ someone to hand out flyers giving some awesome offer to tourists directing them to the restaurant.

I think that's your best bet - you need to put the restaurant in front of the potential customers - with a website you're leaving it to them to find out about you, what if most of them don't search for a restaurant?

By handing out flyers wherever they arrive you can hit them all, or most of them and MAKE SURE they know about the restaurant.

This. Also, once the site is ranking locally and you have a stranglehold on your lil island, your pops can have priority adspace and you can reach out to other businesses and sell them adspace, featured posts / review, marketing services.. whatever your heart desires

I suggest you add China to the list and build your website with these languages. The website is not only about food and your restaurants but also about the island landscape, activities, information...

You also need to set up Facebook Ads and Google Ads that target at those countries. You should cooperate with a travel agency in your island to build up the website. Because most of tourists do not care much about the food, I mean it is not their first priority. You have to blend your restaurants into the trips.

Another way is setting up a food trip and sell it on Facebook and Youtube. Tourists will have a chance to visit the island and taste all signature cuisines. This will requirie a lot of stunning photos and videos of your food.
