OP, this is genius. Like, even from a 'moral' point of view , I truly like this method - Just think about this: In a fair world, the only person(s) who should get hurt by this are telemarketing Companies Owners, and rightfully so.
Why? Well, if I'm a telemarketer and my Supervisor lets me make a single phone call to a lead, without explicitly and deliberately training me for scenarios like the OP is suggesting, and then I get fired because of it, I'd Sue the Hell Out of the Company that fired me, as I'm pretty sure 99% of Supervisors just do not properly prepare their subordinates for scenarios like that (obviously, they should).
So, worst case scenarios:
1.) Telemarketer gets fired because of this, sues the hell out the company. Gets a $ compensation, and walks out of a terrible job.
2.) Telemarketing Supervisor gets fired, repeats same process as above (upper management should by held accountable).
3.) Telemarketing Companies Owners start enforcing better training programs.
4.) Properly trained telemarketer fails to properly address OP request, then he gets warned/sanctioned - just like any boss would do, in any other job in the world, when a subordinate fails to do something that's within his job description.
So, OP, please keep sharing as much as you wish!
