Offline Marketing - Please Advise

Back in 2008-2010 I was heavy into affiliate marketing, seo, link building, and flipping websites. I found a job in 2010 and stopped and sold all my online ventures at the time for what looked like a promising career. Well the company that I got hired onto and worked my way up to management just filed closed it's doors today and I am out of a job with no notice. I want to get back into making money online again but after being out of the loop for 4 years I am sure much has changed, right?

What methods are popular in 2014?

Most of my expeience was in design and marketing, I built and flipped over 250+ websites on Flippa during the huge turnkey boom a few years back before the market was saturated, I also have experience with manual link building but I don't really think thats a thing anymore. What are you guys doing in 2014?

My only thought is to start a marketing company, push social media marketing and web design packages? I did this in the past and it was always a struggle to find clients. Offline marketing was always a challenge but I have more motivation now than ever.

I always forget about that section on here, this will help give me some ideas. I hate trying to replicate someone elses methods but this will help with ideas at least for now. I appreciate the reply!

With web design, you may find it hard to push it to people who do not see the value. Maybe instead go for people with crappy sites that still have some sort of ranking on Google/Bing. That way you can show them with numbers the expected increase in leads you could potentially get them, just by redesigning their website, copy and message.

Most sites don't have a mobile version, so by default are probably throwing away about 40% of traffic and potential leads. By getting them a mobile ready site you're already opening the door back up to that 40% who now may give them a call. This alone with nothing else changed should give a decent increase in conversions. You can split test over a period of time and really offer them the best converting variant possible.

Extension: Find people doing PPC and sending clicks to their home page. Again, offer landing page creation (design, message, copywriting) and demonstrate how it will increase their conversions. Then relate this to how much more money they could make (use estimates to start with).

Think we need more info, like do you have any money saved up that you can invest? What are your short term goals and expectations? You say you are "out of a job", does that really mean you are absolutely sure you are going to be doing IM fulltime?
