Just wanting to know if any one else on here is having any success in offline marketing in small, rural areas? I currently live in a small town just south of Olympia here in Washington state with a relatively small population (10,000+/-) and am wondering if I should start my advertising here...or focus more of my time/attention in Olympia, which is about a 40+/- drive from where I'm at now. Your thoughts, suggestions and/or opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks, H2oboy
I'm assuming you are marketing SEO services? Well, as Dan Kennedy says, "pitch what you got". If there are businesses in your area that would like to compete for customers in Olympia, you probably have an edge in winning their business. Contractors, roofers, etc. are prime candidates... they will travel for the business since there is so much profit in their type of business. Of course... Olympia offers many more opportunities. Try to set aside an "appointment" day on your calendar... then cold call (or whatever your method is for lead generation) and try to set up a few appointments all on the same day.
Small town? Those are the best for the word of mouth. Strike somehow a deal with the haircut girls or nail painters (is that the word?) in town. Locate the girls' cars and put a flyer on their windshield. Your server will blow smoke after that lol. You'll have to pay those girls to shut their trap about you. Locate the big shots in town and do the same. Go to the nearest newspaper office and leave flyers on the car windshields. You have to strategically target the big talkers, the word of mouthers in town. Then the expanding will take care of itself. School teachers are another group of talkers and of course if you can locate the "Jackie" or "Nancy" in their group, you'll hit the jackpot.
Sorry for the late response to the suggestions...been dealing w/a medical issue for the last few weeks and completely forgot about this thread! Appreciate the responses from those who took the time to give their insights into this matter...much appreciated! H2oBoy
