Offline Marketing in College

Hey guys, well I'm currently in college in the U.S and I need some extra money. I have an account with Peerfly and I wanted to start up some offline marketing. My idea is to order about 200-500 printed papers with my offer/site (Free Iphone 5 after test) and just distribute them around campus and maybe put some up on cars in a local walmart. Has anyone had any success with this? If so can you tell me how you did it?

I really don't know if this would work but I havent tried this yet. You must think of doing something cool to get peoples attention. Not just a big blank paper with a black text or something.

If you do this, tell us how it all went. Would be cool to hear a story like this :)
 
Noo man, It's not gonna be a paper with blank text on it. It's gonna have Images, Color etc.. To draw the attention.
 
I have always wanted to try something like this, I think if you can get the flyers for free/cheap then it might be worth your time. It should take you about two hours to make and distribute the flyers, and I would think you should get at least 20-30 leads of out of it, but you never really know. I will tell you this though, Peerfly's advertisers are not interested in offline traffic so you cannot tell them that's what you are doing.
 
Is there a way that peerfly can find out?
 
with regards to flyers, in general, simple is better.

Not unless you tell them! :)

But since I am assuming you're going to buy a domain and redirect it to the offer link, they're going to want to know where the traffic is coming from most likely.
 
I read a thread about somebody else attempting this. They tried with different types of card-stock, colors, and various things...I can't recall their success though. A tip is to include QR codes so people can scan it with their mobile device and go directly to your website.
 
All your conversions are going to be in the same region, which is a big no no.

The QR codes are a great idea normally, but if his offer is for an iPhone, how likely are the people that can scan them to convert? Although it would give you some credibility, and certainly can't hurt, as long as you can generate them for free.
 
Buy a domain and do full page iframe. It will be more attractive.
