Hi Gurus

First - I'm terrible at all these SEO (black or white), its not my bread and butter. I just dabble into it as part of interest. Nothing else.

Would really need some concrete advice and guidance.

A offline local small business - already has their own "corporate" web site online.

They own a number of keyword rich domains (country TLDs) which are specific to their offline business. They have these registered for a couple of years now without any website or use for it. They are now looking to set these up with website and such. There are a total of 11 "sets" of domains.

Let's use the CO.UK and .UK domains as examples. They own 11 sets of domains, 1 set as in keyword.co.uk and keyword.uk

I am thinking of doing 11 sets of
1. Hosting for keyword.co.uk
2. Park keyword.uk on top of keyword.co.uk
3. Wordpress install for keyword.co.uk
4. Articles and information for keyword.co.uk
5. About Us page points back to main corporate site

Am I completely crazy?

Yes you are. First the correct approach to this is creating different sections within the main site using the language of the extension. Secondly stay away from WP, people keep thinking that because is easy to create a site is free banana drinks. Again copy the site into the domain extension language under the main domain. So domain.co.uk points to domain.com/uk/ if you are using something else than English. More is not better, is the usage that counts.

Thank you for your reply evilclown.

Just a little bit of clarification. All the sites are to be done in English. Its just that they have multiple domains which are unused.

For example:

- Existing company site is companyname.co.uk and they have companyname.uk parked on top of it.

- 11 sets of domains which are for example
first-keyword.co.uk & first-keyword.uk
second-keyword.co.uk & second-keyword.uk
another-keyword.co.uk & another-keyword.uk
etc. etc. 11 sets of them

- at present, only companyname.co.uk is alive with a website. all other domains do not have websites.

If you create a site for each of them, you are going to link them and you are going to get penalized so hard your grandchildren SEO efforts are not gonna be enough. Also EMD gets penalization. If they have a good clean corporate site build just 301 the other domains to the main one.

Trying to make a few bucks is gonna hurt them, don't do that. Unless what they are trying to do is control SERP's with multiple rankins witch each domain needs to be on it's own different C-Class IP, different registrar. Even in there stay away from WP.

Hi. Many thanks for reply again. Valid points taken and understood. Thank you.

Am I reading it correctly that you would recommend something like the following instead?
first-keyword.co.uk ---> 301 ---> companyname.co.uk/first-keyword/
first-keyword.uk ---> 301 ---> companyname.co.uk/first-keyword/
second-keyword.co.uk ---> 301 ---> companyname.co.uk/second-keyword/
second-keyword.uk ---> 301 ---> companyname.co.uk/second-keyword/
another-keyword.co.uk ---> 301 ---> companyname.co.uk/another-keyword/
another-keyword.uk ---> 301 ---> companyname.co.uk/another-keyword/
etc. etc.

Sorry but I have to ask, what's wrong with Wordpress? I have only good things to say about it.

Evilclown is right, in ONLY 20% of what he said. The rest, not so much.

There's nothing wrong with WP.

Would you care to elaborate? I'm trying to understand what would you recommend. Not necessarily a step-by-step but a main gist of the idea. Many thanks in advance.

Your are Crazy lol why you wana do it lol/?

Why would I want to do it?

Because the other domains are registered and are not being utilized.

Is there a better way of utilizing them?
