OK guys Halloween is coming and I intend to make some serious cash with this holiday. I would like to start a thread where we all can compile ideas on ways to monetize this time of year. So lets hear your ideas. Here's mine....

There is a local halloween store that sets up shop around here and hires bums to dress in costumes and advertise their store. I plan on crushing them with my own online store.

My simple plan:
1. setup local online halloween store. Call it mystatehalloweenstore.com. Make a professional logo, add graphics make it look like a real site.

2. Put some CJ affiliate products on there.

3. design a flyer in PS advertising my store saying something like
"why waste your money over at priced at local Halloween shops. Save money and get a discount at mystatehalloweenstore.com. Beat the crowd, shop from home in your pjs. Free shipping. Get your stuff the next day...blah blah...etc" you get the picture. Needs to be polished but its an idea.

4. go to print shop and print your flyer with black ink on orange paper. These are your flyers. This costs me .06 cents per print (1000 = $60).

5. Walk around malls, movie theaters, concerts etc places with large amounts of cars at night and put flyers on windshields.

6. Scrape local CL and blast them the flyer directing them to your site.

7. Post links to your store in local forums, write press releases, make a few YT vids, make a FB & myspace, get friends promote your store you know the drill

6. Watch the commissions pour in.

Lets hear some more genius ideas from BHW, I know you ppl got some.

oh BTW, I plan on approaching the owner of the local Halloween store about mid way thru my campaign and offer the website/business to him for a few grand. It will benefit his store as he can use it as an extension to his brick and mortar store. If he doesnt buy it then he's in for some competition that he doesnt want.

they have halloween costumes? cause im pretty sure clickbank doesnt...but ill be glad to use CJ if they do

Just to add...

I am also getting local paid advertisers to advertise on my site and my flyers Extra cash "Sponsored by....." You get the picture.

Great share...how do you go about finding and getting local advertisers to advertise on your site?

Just print off a copy of your site and go and speak to them face to face. Thats the only way you are going to get them.

Here's what I did with my site:
I signed up for CJ and chose a Halloween retailer and became an affiliate.

Now here is the kicker...

I went to their site AND TOOK A SCREEN SHOT of their site and brought it into Photoshop, added my local advertisers banners and sliced it up into an html file. I then brought it into Dreamweaver where I coded all of the buttons (that look just like my affiliates site) and linked them to the same products BUT with my affiliate link.

If you have a laptop, save your website to your computer and give them a tour of your website on your laptop. Or activate tethering on your cellphone its around 20-30 a month depending on your cellphone company basicly what that is, its using your cellphone as a modem for internet. So you can make the deal while your at the store. And cancel tethering after oct. I work for verizonwireless , its the best feature for getting internet anywhere.

Hey has anyone tried advertising on MySpace??

I'm a 16 year old and tend to notice that majority of people in my area that use it are around 14, if there is anything you could target at them?

Just an idea, just thinking that MySpace might be quite good since they're not very strict and allow direct linking.

Well you were wanting ideas.. Heres my simple idea...

Find a halloween email submit or whatever and have flyers saying that if they sign up they will be entered into a contest to win a free costume for next year's halloween.

So when all these kids come to your house, you put candy and your flyer into their bag. And depending on how many kids come to your house, you might be making lots of money...

Plus, most people enter their whole family into a contest so they can win. lmfao (for instance, them, their wife, etc.)

Ye its a great idea... Too bad I live in a neighborhood with all old people... Only get about 2 or 3 trick or treaters every year..

But I guess it will work or anyone else out there... If you try it, lemme know how it goes lol

Never to late to try my method lol. Just go buy a lot of paper, make a flyer and give it to those trick or treaters. Depending on the size of the flyer, you could print 2 flyers on 1 piece of normal printer paper. Then all you gotta do is cut them. Plus if you run out, you can print some off real fast .
