I recently came across the affiliate site Offervault and noticed the payouts listed are not too bad however I am a little skeptical, is there more to it? I imagine these niches that are listed are saturated so to obtain a lead / sale would be hard work but are the pay outs legit?

Yes they are legit. offervault is a tool to help you find out where certain offers are. which networks

Offervault is a reputable site, it's like a directory of CPA/PPL offers, and yes for some of them you'll face a lot of competition.

I see some of these affiliates are willing to pay upwards of 60$ for some leads, I suppose these would be the niches that are saturated and have high competition correct?

Not so much saturated but competitive. Those leads are highly sought after by the companies that are selling an expensive product or service. They pay well for highly targeted convertible leads because they make a lot on the sale.

A lot of those offers which say $60 for a lead, aren't actually for leads...
I always see offers that say $30/lead for a health product or whatever but for the commission to be made the user has to "claim their free bottle (of whatever supplement)" with the purchase of another bottle
so you're actually making sales which makes it way harder ,and then the $60/lead makes sense
