Hello everyone,

As a marketer and advertiser, I'm always interested in understanding the motivations behind people's behaviors. Lately, I've been curious about why people smoke marijuana.
And what are the factors that influence people's decision to smoke it?

Peer pressure and to look cool intially. But it becomes a habit thereafter

Well.

Personally, I learned about the side effects and wanted to experience it.

It helps calm my nerves every time, and it's handy when it comes to imagination and "out of the box" ideas.

I experienced it and liked it. It is an occasional habit, not an addiction.

The last time I blazed was in November 2022.

You could replace marijuana with beer, the question would be exactly the same in principal. Once you do that, all the answers are rather obvious right.

Contrary to conventional belief recent studies have found that Marijuana is really hard to quit compared to for example alcohol.
The reason behind this is as follows:
Thc stays inside the body for at least a month even you stopped smoking while alcohol leaves the body within a day or 2.
So the rate of falling back to smoking again is very very high compared to quiting drinking.
So there you have it why people smoke Marijuana, because it's highly addictive because it stay in you body for more than a month.
Given that most people try it out just like they try out drinking alcohol.

Why do people do it?
1. It depends on the strain.
2. It depends on the person.

Some strains will help you sleep.
Some will boost your appetite.
Some will help to greatly reduce stress.
Some will provide you with more creativity.
Some will enhance your focus.
Some will help you be more personable.
Some will wake you up.
Some will help a lot with arousal and sexual stimulation.
Some will help you enjoy music and other forms of entertainment a bit more.
Some will make you paranoid.

Honestly, it all just depends.

Cause it makes you high , I personally felt it gives you better high then what you get from alcohol.
Yes, it's highly addictive
Unlike alcohol it doesn't lower your inhibitions, I see regular weed smokers to be good drivers as well. ( M not suggesting it though)

Its just like any other drug, But its herbal so people thinks that it doesnt have any side affects. I am from a place where we use it for meditation sometimes. Its best thing if used with care.

Others use it for a medicinal purpose which had shown a lot of proofs that it is effective.

I would usually just let everyone have an opinion but that statement is so categorically incorrect its actually painful.

Post the study.

I'm pretty well read on all things marijuana related and literally everything you've said is incorrect.

With the exception of that THC can be found when doing test in *heavy* users 30 days out due to THC binding to fat cells, this does not in any way contribute to addiction. The fatter you are the longer it will bind for. Although this had 0 effect addiction. It's the equivalent of saying your more likely to be addicted to twinkies purely because they bind to your fat cells and take a long time to burn off.

Alcohol is significantly worse by every single metric possible, not only are they not in the same ballpark in terms of addiction rates, abuse rates, negative effect rates, they aren't even on the same planet.

These threads are always super weird, anytime anyone posts anything related to marijuana on this forum, it's like a bunch of boomers come on in ranting about stuff they have no clue about, spewing absolute pure misinformation or it's full of children talking about this one time at band camp when they spewed up cause uncle jonny made them smoke a joint and it's the devils lettuce or whatever.

If you don't know what your talking about, don't have any real experience on the subject, just don't say anything

Yeah, for overweight it gets harder to quite weed. If i get time I will post the study.

When i actively smoked it was purely because it added more weight to everything, tastier, funnier, etc

I think thats why most people do it

IF there is any credence to that, it's most likely because overweight people lack discipline, not because "there are more adipocytes for the THC to bind to".

That too. There is common consensus that smoking weed causes you to be hungry all the time and you are always munching and getting overweight.
