I have a rough situation here, any advice would be greatly apreciated:

I had a party over the halloween weekend and to make a long story short my car was "borrowed" by this chick I know. Come monday and my car was not back and her phone rings but she won't answer WTF I call the cops monday to report my car stolen.

What do the cops say: well your car is not stolen since the person had access to your keys WTH !!! i say. So basically they won't look for her or the car for a month. After 30 days they said I can then file it as a theft!!

This car is a pretty nice one too, fully paid off worth around 15k, I only had liablity on the car as well ****. So what do I do :

changed my insurance to full coverage on monday , since I guess its technically not stolen yet !!?

Its now thurday and its obvoious the chick is not brining my car back probably has it stripped down anyways by now so I figure I call my insurance and tell them my car is stolen ?! or do i wait that month and then file the police report first then call the insurance ?

Either way I'm fearfull they will refeuse to cover the theft since it was technically gone as of sunday but my coverage does not take effect until the 2nd which is tuesday.

any ideas I'm tearing my hear out here

this was supposed to be a decent year for me too which sucks I am working a new membership site ( any positve or negative comments are welcome) I bought a new beater just so i can get to work but losing that car for nothing after 5 years of payments is gona kill me .

move it to lounge im sure someone will help you...anyway when it may be considered stolen probably you will be able to get full money back since you have insurance

Ummmm....don't let chicks you barely know borrow your car? No matter how hot they are.

I came up with 2 solutions:
1. Lie to the cops and say that your keys either got stolen or that the car was broken into. Even if the cops don't give you your car back, you'll find out who she is and where she lives and you'll find your car.
2. Put up posters everywhere in your town saying your car was stolen and offer cash reward to whoever can give you info.

Once you locate your car, just take it. If you don't have spare keys, break a window and hotwire it (so what if someone calls the cops; the car is yours).

If you need tips on what to do to the b*tch that stole it, just let me know.

I have her information as in her name but I don't know where she lives also found her profile and friends on facebook I definlty wana get back at the thieving b$$ch but mostly i just want my car or the insurance payout at this point.

I'm thinking of lying to the cops saying my car was stolen and just telling my isurance such I can't wait a month.

go back to the cops and say its stolen.Say you gave the keys to make a round and she never come back.The police wont do much as the police in the US are unable to handle this kind of stuff anymore as they are way overload.
If he is asking again a stupid question it cant be stolen as she got your keys say when you drive to a nice restaurant you are alo giving your keys to park the car and if it cant be stolen by the guy.Keys doesnt mean anything.Give her name and they will find her immedently.Dont waste time but its possible she had a car accident and thats why she is not coming.If this happened you done

Where the hell do you live, one time I let this guy borrow my car for like an hour, when he didn't come back for like 6 reported it stolen and it was reported stolen, cops found him on the highway drunk in it with guns, chased him and he flipped off the road and shit.

If that's the case, abort the mission, because switching to full coverage and then claiming your vehicle stolen has surely been thought of before. Just my $0.02 brother.

In hindsight, always remember you can never, ever trust ANYONE 100%. Think about it, if you trusted your mother 100% to do a certain thing, she may be hell bent on completing it, but there is always outside factors (say death for example) that could make her(them) fail. This is why you spread your (l)eggs.

If you gave her the keys, it's just considered joy riding which is a slap on the wrist. She probably dumped the car off somewhere in a parking lot or something. Nothing you can do about it really and the cops won't look for a needle in a haystack. You can take her to civil court if you know her information and only if you lost wages or the car was damaged.

Feel sorry for you but take it as a lesson learned.

If you file a claim to your insurance that your car was stolen, then your rates will go up.

Also, add her friends, and even add here on there, maybe with a different profile and find out where she lives, or if she's going somewhere in the next day or two.

If she did something to the car, then just sue her in court for the damages.

Build some sites, make some $$$ and buy a new car

WTF - so a totally unknown woman asks to borrow your car and because she is hot you give it her?

Erm, wake up, smell the coffee - why give something worth a lot of money to a stranger.

Sorry, perhaps its a bad day but no sympathy. Also as you have already spoken to the police and they know she had the keys from you and then you file another report saying something different, either they will smell a rat or your insurance won't pay out.
