Odesk SEO?

Anyone ever hire someone from there? I got a quote from someone to rank my site to top #3 in 12 week, top #10 in 6 weeks. At $4 a hour and 10 hours a week. = $480

He seems to have good rating, alot of people on there do. I never invested into seo because I always felt it as risky. But this seems pretty cheap. What are your thoughts BHW?

i use them. i ended up killing my rankings...i'm still trying to recover. But I didn't really kjnow what I was doing at the time, I got a few high pr blasts for comments and profiles. And did it in 1 week to my money site. So I guess it just depends...just be careful you don't blast your site to oblivion
 
I would be paying like $40 a week, so I suppose I could just stop if I see any failure..

problem is you won't really know until its too late. But go for it. Its all about who you hire. oDesk itself is a nice platform to do it on. I posted my job and within 30 minutes had like 10 applicants. By the next day I had like 50.

True, he said he will send weekly reports that look pretty intensive. I think I'm going to sleep on it.
 
to be honest i would have him do the job over 3 months, do no more than 10-20/week. No sense in ranking 1 day and then disappearing forever after that. i got the initial first page honey moon period with google when I did that blast..but then she left me for some other site :(
 
$10-$20? or 10-20 hours a week?

10-20 links/week. I guess I would ask him his method first, if he's reluctant to tell you ask him why. You don't want someone blasting your site with xrumer or scrapebox who might not be the most articulate writer.

seriously i would consider using something like vitarank or serp explosion, you are paying a price where you have reviews of a product which is proven to work, its far better than paying an SEO to rank a site who you haven't really got much indication of his success. As a part of it costing a fairly high amount of money, its also a bit of a risk, at least with buying a service here (vitarank is recurring) you have 100% faith that the work will be 100% done to satisfaction.
 
I am also a freelance contractor at oDesk. Right now, I have 48 work history and feedback, currently have 6 jobs in progress. I earned $900 each month as a link builder. For me, it is the best place to build your own career.:)
 
If you are happy to spend that kind of money. Order a service from a respected BHW member. Simple as that.

I did this with limited results. I would love to do it here but the thing with SEO is no one can give you a solid answer on what to expect, when to expect it, and how much it will cost. But here I figure I would cut it off the week I stop getting results.

Its important to get proper plan , i prefer BHW services .
 
The problem is if you hire someone from oDesk, they will also be working for others. Obviously if they are a company(you really wouldn't know) behind it, I guess it wouldn't matter, but if it's just an individual, working for different projects may have its drawback. They are probably doing it much faster than you expected without careful delivery of their work. They would also probably automate everything. I wouldn't count on it much.
 
It will depend on your budget. If you have a low budget I would suggest hiring services either here or other forums. These services cover just about every type of link building.

If you want your own team member I would use Odesk and try to get someone from the Philippines as they are the most reliable in my experience. I've currently got a team of nine Filippino's and I couldn't live without them.

If your looking for full time employees I would go to onlinejobs.PH although that is a paid service it totally rocks for finding affordable part or full time employees. My mid level employees cost me $367 a month for full time work which is incredible value.
 
ive had good luck with low quality grunt work from there...shop around, you dont have to take the first offer you receive.

This is not cheap at all because SEO is not a one time deal. its an investment and a necessity, what good is a website if users don't even know they exist, so if you're going to hire him/her that is $480 a week which means $1920 a month and you would have to pay for it every month for which you don't even know if the backlinks that is being produced for you is of high quality. I suggest you find the service here in blackhat there are many company who offers SEO that is much cheaper than what you've found. to know if they are effective, look at their reviews its always a good way to assess their capability. hope this helps :)
