Hey,

So I was analizing all my kw positions on one of my websites, and so many drop off then come back weaker or even stronger. This happens all the time. Some kw will never come back. I have other sites that are really steady in their ranking.

All sites have similar link building and content strategies. I purchased this website on flippa a few months ago. BUT....when I searched blackhatworld to get more info on plagiarized content, I come across 1text.

When I started to check some posts, I was shocked to find MANY of the posts on my website were almost copied from other websites on page 1. They passed other plagiarized content tools, but not 1text.

I'm thinking this might have an effect on ranking? I checked randomly other results for keywords on page 1, and find a mix of plagiarized sites copied from others. Just some words changed here and there.

Is my website dead? Should I re-write all the dupe content? Pretty annoyed about it actually..

Thanks

This is a good lesson for you, especially for future flippa purchases.

And yes, you should write (or hire somebody) to re-write the content. Actually, try to not only re-write them, but to actually improve them (by length, information, media etc). And as soon as completed, you can use GSC to re-submit your pages.

Also, a thing that might help is to add structured data to your pages, but only for the new content. This will help search engines pick up on your content.

The funny thing is that when I search for other random 1st page results (ones that aren't a massive authority site, just general affiliate), some are showing plagiarized content, not copied word for word but the 'idea' is copied if you know what I mean.

When I check them on any dupe. content checker like copyscape, smallseotools etc, they all pass.. but on 1text it shows the sites they got their info from, some more obvious than others.

If you're getting content written, I challenge anyone to check their content and I will guarantee you will see at least 20% plagiarized content.

You should rewrite them but before uploading in the website you should check the plagarisim through paid tools quetext.

While “You should have done X” may be one of the most useless phrases in existence, here it is actually relevant. You should have checked the site before buying it, but what’s done is done.
As you’re probably aware by now, this is bad, and you will want to have the content rewritten as soon as possible.
Sorry.
