Hello BHW, my name is Charles. I am 19 and entering my second year at a NYC university. In the past year a series of unfortunate events have occured within my family. My father has passed with all of his assets partially in the name of his brother. For the past 8 months I have lived with my uncle until he met a young woman from Russia and they both decided it was time for me to move out. He left me on the streets with a luggage case of clothes and $100. My uncle sold my father's home, kept his car, and emptied all his bank accounts.

On a brighter note, I am not willing to give up my education as I have a full scholarship to my university for academics without dorm. On top of that I receive a $2,000 stipend to spend on books per year. Recently, I have been employed by a clothing retailer which pays a little over minimum wage. So it's not too bad. I currently stay at my university's library until closing hours where I then walk around Manhattan collecting bottles from garbage cans and recycle bags on the sidewalk. I do not shoplift, steal, or rob.

I have created this moderate living situation for myself and I am okay for it. But I know that this is a temporary situation I am in which I must dig myself out of. In the past, my IM skills have been only spare change. My total was around $1,200 with only using sharecash over 3 months, but this was a few years ago.

When my next check comes, I will be investing it entirely as my stipend will be added to my university account later this month. A journey post will be created to keep track of my own progress. I am entitled to a good life.

best of luck, brother. hopefully you'll get to making some money in no time. :)

Good luck, good to hear your sticking it out and keeping your education going. Keep that mindset and attitude and you'll be just fine

You can get out of that, I've been there. I'm out on the island, so I know it's tough here. Keep going, you'll get it going in no time dude :) let me know if I can help steer you the right way or do something, I've got about 200 tools.

just wanna tell you tht you're among good ppl here and yes it would be much better to hang on to your dayjob and when later u have some money to invest , go for some tested and tried methods and don't forget to become a Jr.VIP donor status m pretty sure that'll help u a lot.I feel for u :)

I'm going to take your post at face value because there is no reason not to.

There are alot of good people here that will be glad to answer questions. When you can, read as much as you can and learn... put some of the methods into action and hopefully begin to secure a better future for you.

Good luck and I will Pray that things work out for you soon.

Chris Gardner is that you?

So what address do your checks go to and have you ever thought about applying for financial aid? Where do you keep your belongings when you're at school and work?

I want to wish you the best of luck. One thing I really really want to tell you, and you must understand this, whatever you do, do NOT look for quick money. I wasted half a valuable year trying to implement get rich quick methods. If I had built just a few niche sites back then and spent that time working on it, instead of jumping around from method to method, I would have been in a much better shape now. Find one method that seems to work on the long term and make sure to stick to it. 95% of IM'ers don't do this, thus why 95% fail.

I would definitely start writing articles ASAP. If you are interested, I'm hiring.

I would imagine that you should be able to pull yourself out of this situation in a couple weeks and get a better place to stay.

Thank you everyone for your support.

I do not have much belongings to watch over. I am well organized and I managed to put a padlock on one of the bigger lockers in the men's changing room since it is currently the summer session. My work check deposits directly into my bank account. I missed the financial aid deadline for this school year as I thought I was secure earlier this year.

Currently, I am thinking of any skills that I have to offer on Fiverr.

Write articles bro. If you have a fullride, youre smart. Write articles for $7 an article and count bills when youre not.

Your uncle kept your fathers car, emptied his bank accounts, and left you on the streets with just 100 bucks+cloths.... He doesn't sound like a great man.

Anyway like the others has said i sure in about 3 weeks you should atleast be able to rent a small apartment, and have better living conditions.

I wish all the very best. I can understand you - I am trying to make money myself so that I can go into grad school saving penny by penny. Take care of yourself ! Fiverr is a great place to start - it is one of emergency -go-to methods for earning (not my favorite though).

P.S. Reminds me of Pursuit of Happyness :)

As somebody who is entering the world of academia, why not checkout this thread on BHW. You could look into answering questions and get paid from $1 to $50 per job. I can't vouch for this method, but have a read and see how it goes.

What your uncle did with your father's assets will happen to him exactly. Once our Russian cutie gets her green card it's going to be good bye uncle, thank you for your assets.

Then you can LOL.

In the mean time, take a look at http://savingstitan.com they are going to start hiring sales people next month and paying $2000 per card + $500 bonus if filled within 10 days.

I know this because I am the one doing their website work and will be implementing the sales people process soon.

PM me if you need to know more.

Good luck, brother. Believe in yourself. Anything is possible.

Do NOT look for short-cuts. They're a waste of time. Be patient and invest in good methods.

{Morality|Nobility|Courage|Self-Confidence|Self-Respect|Success} arises from small acts, not grandiose gestures. Consistency of action is the key.

Since your starting college get a degree that's worth something, mathematics and science is where its at. Computer science degree will land you a good paying job after graduating and help out your IM career. Win win situation, Good luck!

Good luck brother,

My case is a bit similar to yours even i was leaving in hostels.
