Notification when mentioned or quoted

I think it would be great if you could get an email notification when your name is mentioned or at least when you are quoted- there are lots of posts I make where I don't necessarily want to subscribe to the thread but would like to know if anyone comments on what I have said.

Anyone else agree?

Completely agree David and I do believe the new update will include an alert box for members.
 
Maybe just a notification on bhw instead of email. If you make a thread or someone or more people keep replying to you in a thread and you would keep gettin emails sounds annoying ;) Also sounds like a lot of work :D

Yea, or perhaps the choice for either - personally I would rather cut down the amount of emails I get for thread replies and have emails just when I get mentioned.....

Forum is switching over to the Xenforo platform and in Beta we had alerts. Diamond Damien suggested the upgrade
will be done on 4th quarter of this year, but he might have to correct me if I have that wrong. Just from memory.

Thats good, I did check the beta a little bit, should have noticed that really :-)
 
That would be a great! It would make it easier for the active members to get around....and I want to know when someone is mention me or quoting me.
 
this is coming with the new update. Any clue when is the new update coming ?

Hopefully soon, Rabbitking said 4th quarter which is any time from next month I guess??

I prefer a notification on bhw too it would be really useful
 
@mentions and on forum alerts all part of the new platform.

Jr. VIP's had access a few months ago which gave some fantastic feedback that has been incorporated.

All will have access to the updated beta around November and all being well live in the new year.
 
I didn't even notice this feature was up and running until just now. I gather it was in the pipeline for the new version long before I mentioned it here.

But it's a great feature - really nice not to miss when someone quotes a post that I have made.

Yeah it is things like this which seem to have given the buzz back to the forum and makes it easier to keep up with the flow of things.
