Not Sure What Else To Try...

Im stuck, and its really bugging me.

I have a friend who has a sports club and he asked me to help him out with some SEO.

I have tried various techniques over the last couple of months with good results but not as good as i would have hoped.

I have done:
Onsite SEO for 6 keywords
Article distribution 2 per keyword per month - Article base, ezine, UAW (680 odd sites)
Social Bookmarking - Onlywire.com
Directories - local and national
Nov Angela links pack - manually done and baited the profiles

I also tracked through their main competitors backlinks (yahoo site expl) and pretty much got the same links. A few private site prevented me from doing so.

I am trying to target 2 search terms that are pretty much the same. the terms are similar to "london karate" and "karate london".

The website is currecntly ranking position 2 and position 4.... i just dont know what else to try to get that top position.

I mean its not even a highly competive search term. The .co.uk competition is 105,000 for them both.

At the moment our website has 2,623 and the main competitor who is ranking first for both has 51 which dropped from 64 about a month ago.

Any suggestions to help a fellow SEO'er?

Or do i just black hat the hell of the competitor and take his place , a LOT of xrumer, PRStorm....?

come over to the dark side you will see quick results. I was once like you and tried all the things you have said above it worked but was so slow. Then i moved over to black hat did a few xrumer blasts, mass blog comments, did some angela & paul links, used link exchanges and i have seen an improvement in half the time. I built up 1500 backlinks in about 2 weeks and i am growing every day which will boost my SERPS i am still not #1 for my keywords but that is because they have a competition of 12,400,000 but i am on like pages 2 and 3 and plan on getting to page 1 very shortly.

How about you try waiting awhile? How long have you been building links? Have they been indexed yet?

Yes the website had around 400 when i started and now since June/ july it has 2,600 odd according to yahoo site explorer.

Do you know when the next deep google update will be?
