I used to rank on the first page 2019. I had an entire network of PBNs which is exclusive to me. Right now, I am not ranking on first page and struggling to get up there. My PBNs are no longer working. Can someone tell me what are the new methods to use like SEO audit and which tools to use? And what are the new methods to rank up there?

Check it with tools like SEMrush or Ahrefs, make sure your content is excellent, and get good, natural links.
Google likes sites that are helpful and easy for people to use

The problem could be either related to your website or PBNs or both,
As well as the links pointing to the PBNs, but less likely the case, unless you're selecting average/bad domains for most of them,

What's your ranking currently?
Are there any new competitors out there?
Possibly some people are investing more than you do,

How about your website content & on page?
Google had made a shit ton of changes in the recent couple of years, EAT & content do matter than before,

How about the PBNs content & on page as well?
If you used to use spintax content or any kind of shitty one, possibly the PBN websites are getting doomed because of this, so is your website in return,
You need to use decent content for the PBNs as well, publish posts regularly, work on EAT, add internal links, etc... Just like any other money site,
Most of the work could be automated today with AI, but you still need to invest in both time & money to get a decent well built one

What type of links are pointing to the PBNs?
Possibly many spammy links used to do the work for the PBNs & boost your website in return,
If they got filtered and currently seen as spam or less valued type of links then your PBN will be less valued as well,
Especially if you're boosting the PBN with GSA links, web 2.0s, comments, etc...

Other than that, it's not a one single problem that will be solved, there's a ton of parameters to check to make sure you have the right links well set,
And even then, it's really up to google to consider what pages/websites are authorities & rank them, they're messing a shit ton of people websites sadly

Ranking is a little bit different than it was in 2019. Back then, searcher's intent was in it's infancy and not as important of a ranking factor as it is now. What they're looking for is fulfilling the searcher's intent (answer to the question the user is searching for) as well as possible.

Outside of that, It's still somewhat similar to ranking how it's always been. Google & other search engines just value other metrics such as viewer retention, CTR, and other various on-page metrics.

Backlinks are still important and quality > quantity has always been one of the prime factors of ranking.

Try to analyze your page 1 competitor and replicate their backlink profile. PBN still works but you should know how to build a strong and clean one to be there for a long.
You can try Ahref/Semrush to analyze your top competitors!

These methods are working fine with most of the niches ~~

* Wikipedia links
* Outreach GPs & Niche Edits (Relevant & Real Traffic sites)
* Forum comments on high-engaging threads.

Good Luck! :)

How much time do you spend for backlinks to rank?
I don't. I outsource the work and tell them to do things for me.

My ranking is page 2 onwards but not on page 1. Its annoying . Argghh. I had a few marketing meetings and they said that I had to change my site and those will need time. I am using chatgpt for my content and using plagiarism to run thru it so it looks written well. What is EAT?

I am not boosting the PBN at all and letting it run naturally

Can I ask how do you analyse a AHREF domain ? I am always using majestic

I don't. I outsource the work and tell them to do things for me.

then you have to tell them to build more quality links with niche relevant or find links by yourself

Because if the rankings are down then you have to push more links to the keywords then you reach the top position again

Concentrate on you quality content where the audience can find what they need from your content
Check is there any broken links or page speed is slow

Try moving on from old methods like PBNs. Focus on getting good links, making your website better for search engines, and creating helpful content for people.

With the help of Ahref, you can figure out the Quantity & Quality of the backlink profile of your competitors and try to implement the same strategy.

As per my knowledge, Check your current ranking and watch out for new competitors.
Focus on improving your website content and the quality of your PBN, also avoid spammy links.
Google's algorithm changes are crucial, so prioritize factors like Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness and content quality.

For audits, I recommend using "Ahrefs" as it provides a clear overall view compared to other tools. Additionally, consider using MOZ for Domain Authority, Majestic for Trust Flow and Citation Flow
