hi forum. so i have a question but I'm not pretty sure what I ask for otherwise I would have googled it.
So basically I've heard a guy here talking that he had a hosting account and trough it he uploaded videos/posted articles on websites and so on. My question is how exactly this is done and what is this called? Can I do this trough hostgator shared hosting? If I buy ip's from hostgator can I this way change my ip? Because I want to upload videos to youtube and create account but I don't wanna risk my own iP as I'm also trying to build a legit channel.
Will thank anyone who helps :)

You're looking for proxy servers. No, your hostgator account won't help you here. At least now you know what to search for in google or this forum ;)

not really. I know what a proxy is but I am not talking about proxies. I'm talking about for a way to use your own webhosting account with a browser and so on. I don't have any idea what this is called but as I said I once saw a guy here who was talking about it. He said something like - " i'm uploading to utube trough my hosting server as my connection is too slow" .

Contrary to what neoseeker said, you can use hostgators IP. Just install PHP Proxy and you're surfing under hostgators server IP. Here's the site for the free download...
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/php-proxy/
