Not getting subscribers from shorts

I have a gaming channel and I uploaded a video yesterday that's gained nearly 10,000 views and 500 likes (and continues to increase), but I've only gained 1 subscriber from it. I tried putting a pinned comment reminding to subscribe, a reminder in the video, and in the description, but have not had much luck.

Would you guys have any suggestions on what exactly I'm doing wrong on the video or channel? I mean, it's not always this bad. A lot of my other videos have between 1000 and 3000 views and usually have about 1 subscriber each, which I suppose is pretty bad as well.

But I'm not having issues with reach or being in the "no-view dungeon". The video is actually doing really good. It's just the amount of subscribers I'm getting is very low.

Try to anounce a prize give away, use some give away vendors that help you organize it. You should stimulate your viewers to sub

Sometimes is the niche. In the history or anime stories niches 10,000 views = 100 subs, but in reddit stories 10,000 views = 3 or 5 subs.

You may lack some guidance at the end, such as follow me to see XXXX, or you can also consider posting in sections, which can increase the number of views on your homepage.

Most channels have this pattern where they get tons of views but conversion of these views into subscribers are very less, most people watch content without thinking about subscribing, and that's a normal thing, you need to keep reminding them, one good way would be to put up a pop up of subscribe button and a click sound from time to time throughout your video, so while people are watching the video they get a direct indication or reminder to subscribe.

Another thing is yeah you can do this "social proof" method where you do buy subscribers services, and so new viewers will have a feeling to subscribe because "everybody else is subscribing too" for example a channel that has 100 subscribers vs 10000 subscribers, mostly viewers will have this subconscious trait of following a bigger, more popular channel.

I don't think there's much of a secret, other than recurrence, until the algorithm identifies the pattern of people who are interested in following your channel.

It's the niche. Yo can put 1sec subscribe animation at the end of short.

Think logically. you think people don't know how to subscribe?

Nobody cares to sub bro, lol.


The only solution is to create long videos (normal yt videos)

And then add that video in pinned comment and say:

Watch this now:

Click this:

WTF:

You too bro:


That's how marketing is done.

Shorts usually attract passive viewers who scroll quickly without engaging. Try creating a recurring series so viewers have a reason to subscribe. Also, use branded overlays, include a strong CTA early, and link to longer videos in pinned comments. Consistency helps. Don't rely only on Shorts for subs mix with long-form content to build community.

Keep posting and capitalise on these views. Subscribers generally don't come from shorts but you can make money on the short views
