Not getting any sales. Only abandoned carts.

Hey. I've recently started with dropshipping to test the waters. Found an alright niche (not crazy good, but not bad). I started 4 days ago and I've had 25 abandoned carts without a sale. I've tested that our payment solutions and everything works. I've optimized the checkout page so i have the minimum amount of fields, and made it not confusing at all. You don't even need to register to pay and you pay on the page. To streamline the checkout process...

I'm offering a 10% discount if they sign up for my newsletter aswell, but no one has done it.
I've had a total of 488 visitors, all from social media and facebook ads

Am I being impatient, or is this normal?

It's called ghost traffic. You need a source of targetted traffic, then your conversion will improve. Assuming everything else is fine.

Doesn't ghost traffic leave a mark on where they come from? Wouldn't my analytics say the traffic came from some random website?

You can try retargetting campaigns by email or by custom audiences on socials media and abandoned cart messenger flow with an app like recart (if you are on shopify) or Manychat.
If you want some informations about what your customers are doing on you site to see if there is any friction, you can add a app like hotjar that film us.

Ghost traffic is not really a technical definition. It's just traffic that doesn't do anything for you. It won't necessarily set a referrer, might be just random bots written by kids in their mom's basement.

I just checked the customer's IP addresses (the ones who abandoned carts), and they all come from the same amazon server. So you're correct. Thanks!

You can try with other products and see if the results are still the same.

Try retargeting.

Id be patient and test it a little more
