Hello everyone, so I'm having this issue right now. one of my sites is ranking very well (3rd-4th, 1st page) on desktop search but on the mobile version, it's 30+ position. It's happening for the last 20-30 days. First I thought it's just google dancing and things will get adjusted soon. But nah passed already a month but no change. What am I doing wrong? maybe the theme, well I am using a free theme. is it can be the case or anything else? Really looking for some help at this point.
Site age is around 4 months.

- Optimize Your Site For Mobile , Mobile Optimization can help you rank.
- Check the site speed on mobile
- Use AMP (accelerated Mobile Page)
- Use High Quality Images

is the site mobile optimized? if not, its the reason.

according to google mobile-friendly test, the site is mobile optimized. The site is responsive and pretty much falls under today's standard of what we call a mobile-friendly site.

do u have any pop up message. that might cause some negative seo in mobile.

no, no pop. no ads. just a clean site with 1200 words front page article and some filler article.

Have you tried installing the amp plugin on your site? Or if your site isn't mobile friendly, or mobile compliant, or contains error for its mobile view, then surely, these would add up and decrease your rank in the process. Or get a template that is mobile friendly (everything and anything, which includes image optimization), and that will help increase the ranking in the process.

You must take a mobile-friendly test. Without having a responsive website, it is difficult to get more traffic.

How many seconds google speed insights show u? I have 0.8 sec on pc but 4 sec on mobile according to this tool. And im like you. Amp could help you but i dont like it. Also my site loads instant on my phone that tool must be bugged

I also suggest you check your page speed for mobile on pagespeedinsights (its a service from google) and try to improve

You can use this[source: (www)wpexplorer(com)/wordpress-mobile-optimization/]

The Mobile Theme Module by Jetpack:
I’ve talked about how awesome Jetpack is in one of my old posts. And it looks like we’re going to talk about Jetpack again. As you know Jetpack is a plugin developed by the same fine folks behind WordPress. The plugin offers a butt-load of features that’s individually applicable to a diverse set of audience.

One such module is called the Mobile Theme. Once activated, this Jetpack module overrides your active theme’s mobile version. In other words, when a user visits your site via a mobile, the Jetpack Mobile theme takes over.

Rest assured, this theme follows only the best SEO standards, is made out of the most optimized pieces of code, loads in a jiffy and is outright beautiful to look at! Oh and of course, it’s free.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

So basically all the factors your desktop site is ranking for will go uninfluenced by the mobile friendly version. Its also free:)
Hope this helps GL!
