Ok so this is the story of my blog, I hope it will give you some details that are important for your reply:
It started 1 year ago and it was a blog about my poems, stories and thoughts. I later on added anime and manga reviews and now even book reviews. Yet I don't seem to get anything out of it. I have roughly 100 unique visitors per day but not many clicks on the chitika (or whatever it's called) ads. I tried to apply for google adsense but I think I used some cuss words somewhere in an article so I was banned. The blog has around 350 articles of various types, most are poems and manga first impressions.

What do you think I should do? I am really clueless when it comes to earning from a blog. I was thinking of changing to clickbank that might be some good thing?

If you're good in writing poems and stories, why not monetize it something similar to what your niche is? Let say you write about drama, why not recommend a book with your affialiate link at the end of story about drama? You write about poems, why not recommend books about poems with your affialiate link?

Do the basic first: in your reviews, use affiliate links to get commissions. Example: let's say you reviewed the book "The Da Vinci Code" Place an affiliate link in the end of the review. If one of your readers click on the link and buy something, you make a commission with that sale.
 
What trigonice29 has suggested isn't a bad idea. Where does most of your traffic come from? You could try amazon associates and add links in your articles to relevant ebooks
 
Your blog is not targeted, if it is a collection of random articles then you need an interesting voice to attract and keep an audience.
Chitika is pretty crap IMO but I wouldn't worry about monetisation until you have a clear idea of who you are blogging to and how large the market/audience is.
I would suggest sticking to one niche and work on your keyword research and onpage SEO.
 
I agree that if you have all sorts of niches it is going to be hard to target traffic. Perhaps look and see what mainly your articles/poems are about and then go from there.

I think that's a good idea and I think I will give it a try. Should i go with amazon or clickbank?

Well the most traffic comes from forums and reddit. I get also like 10-20 from searchers.

I see...well I think of moving it a bit and making it only about writing and stuff so that should be more concentrated.
Should I leave the articles that are there on and just hide the categories or should I just delete them?

Form what I read in the replies and on this forum my best option could be to just separate the site into smaller sites.
I have already a domain for a manga forum where I can move all the manga and anime related stuff and I could do a youtube channel on my opinions which would probably earn me some money easier, and I guess I would be left with book reviews, writing and my own works what do you think?
 
Like others said, you need to focus on a niche and walk from there. You can't just have random content from here and there on your blog. You're not targeting any audience, which means you can't focus any keywords, and you won't bring in many people to your website. Choose a niche/keyword you want to pursue, post content related to the keyword, and then rank yourself on that keyword.
 
You should be worried about sending loads of traffic to your blog to generate a decent amount of money and then monetize with a decentCPA not adsense because like i said before adsense accounts often get banned for no apparent reason
 
first things first, drop chitika... try to get your adsense back if possible, + go with the affiliate links.
 
Build an email list and learn about email marketing. As W130SN stated, you need to build an attractive character that your visitors are looking forward to hearing from :) Once you have that you can start recommending products
 
How about a site called something like "howtowritepoems.com"

Where you write analysis and indepth information for people that actually want to write their own poems.

There is lots of technical writing and skills that go into poetry writing, things like alliteration, metaphors etc.
And every year there a thousands of students worldwide studying a select amount of poems in the school curriculum.

Sorry to say but nobody cares for your poems. It's easier to target the market of those that want to write their own.
 
Correction... I wouldnt care about monetization until you hit a pretty decent amount of visitors per day like 500 minimum
 
Try some videogames CPA offers. That category usually works for me better than others when there's no specific niche.
 
You should probably set this blog aside for your passion for writing, and use your writing skills to create a new targetted site with commercial intent.

Other than that what I'd do is search for similiar poetry sites to investigate how they are monetizing such sites.

or write your own poem and compile it on pdf then put a buy button on your blog and sell that ebook.
