Not an Affiliate Marketer: Looking for Backlink Advice

Hello BHW Denizens - I run a small business that relies on the web for lead generation. I don't generate revenue through ads or affiliate commissions or anything like that. My business purchases high end networking equipment (switching, routing, wireless, telecom, security) hardware from businesses who have recently upgraded, closed down, merged, etc.

Need to seriously beef up our backlink profile, and came to BHW to look around for an individual or provider who can assist, or at least absorb some info so I can try to implement some effective strategies. We are in a very small niche, and the links obviously help with SERPS on the keywords and phrases we traditionally target, which tend to be long tail, but still fairly competitive in our niche. I am concerned with finding a quality, natural linking strategy which will not be a temporary stop gap, but more of a long term asset.

We took a hit in SERPS at the end of September, and are in the midst of a general content refresh and need to build new links. Any advice is appreciated.

Don't leave out social media strategies like video, blogging, Facebook, twitter, pinterest e.t.c they help establish trust, make your site authority and above generate tons of traffic to your site. If done well, it works like charm.

Dont slow down, keep up with the SEO work like blogging, video creation, guest posting forum posting and etc etc. These are all going to increase your page rank and give a interesting turn to your business..

I would also suggest continuing to build out the content on your website to answer "question queries" that people looking to sell their equipment might ask.

Check your google analytics (or whatever analytics you use) to find out what kind of longtail keywords you have coming in... stuff like "where to sell old network switches" or "who buys spare routers". For every question like this you can build a blog post or additional webpage that will bring in qualified leads for you.

We do this a lot with our ghostblogging clients; simply check the analytics and answer the questions that people are using to find your business. It works.
