Was it ever the case that a post's reach (in turn engagement) was lower with a business profile than a normal one? I'm pretty sure I read sth about it on here (might be wrong).

I'm asking because I switched from personal to business and I have easily noticed a drop in engagement. I'm wondering if I got unlucky with my last 2 posts or is this the case?

Thanks!

I noticed this as well on my dog page.
I have the same likes now 3k followers as I had with barely 1k

Have you tried reverting to a normal profile and see if it helps?

Anyone else experiencing similar?

I believe not only have people on forums confirmed there is no effect but Instagram itself has released a statement saying there is no difference.
I converted my 2 pages to business pages and after a month they are the same level as pre-business account.

I think it will show some deflection because in a personal profile you are more engaged with your followers ( mainly will be your friends ) so its kinda make sense to have more engagement on a personal profile as compared to business.

But you get a lot of extra features in Business profile.

This usually happens often. They lower your engagement rate because they know that you have a business - they prefer that you will pay them (paid ads) for exposure instead of getting it for free.
