Hello, I just want to ask is it big or any difference between normal hosting and wordpress hosting? I mean if I want to install wordpress on normal hosting, is it better to buy special wordpress hosting?

Depends. Some specialized WordPress hosting providers actually have optimized environments for WordPress. You just might pay an extra buck for those services (e.g., Pagely and Kinsta). If you're just starting out you'd be fine with any shared host that supports WordPress.

Any web hosting provider is going to support WordPress. You'll most likely be able to get them to install it for you, use a "1-click" installer, or install it manually.

well i don't think they have much difference between normal package and wordpress package, other than wordpress is cheaper and usually locked only for site powered with WP

I worked in a callcenter for a hosting company for a year. The only difference was that with WP hosting, WordPress was pre installed. But they almost asked double the price lol

I work at one of the bigger hosting companies in my country. And I can tell you that 9/10 companies give you a normal hosting with a pre-installed WP distro labled as some kind of "special WP hosting". It's all marketing! Very few companies actually offer real WP hosting where all the PHP configuration on the package is configured in favor of WP.

Yup, agreed!

If you consider the technical side, basically both are almost the same. WordPress hosting will provide you some extra facilities doing thins easier. One-click WordPress installation, some caching task to speed up, auto back, updates, etc.
My recommendations if you have knowledge about WordPress (Intermediate Level) then you can take normal hosting and configure things by own. But if your knowledge is little you can take WordPress hosting, which will help you to do some basic stuff easily.

One thing I like to emphasize, all shared hosting is slower than dedicated hosting.

Nothing special. You can stick with normal hostings.

Go for normal hosting and buy me some beers with the price difference :)

I use wordpress and regular HTML on my hosting...Its basically no difference , You will just need to add wordpress.
Visit my sites .. Collegenxxx.com OR Boysinxxx.com

For some people both are same but I think normal hosting is much better option.you'll have more freedom to do anything you need. you can customize your wordpress code or change your host limits. you even may need a specific php extension

I think if you want to build a wordpress based website, there are a few things you should consider,

WordPress Hosting:
  • Have a Large Resource Limit
  • Easy WordPress Control Panel
  • Provides Useful Automatic Features
  • Can Choose Premium or Free Themes
  • etc

Own Hosting:
  • Available Email Hosting Features
  • Provide Responsive Page Builder and Developer Tools
  • Support with SSL Certificate
  • Automatic Backup
  • etc

I currently use my own hosting to run my website and several client websites (corporate, school and personal).

Very useful, just noticed that I use wordpress plans that are far more expensive than clud / windows / linux.
Will have to switch!

Cloud Hosting OR Linux Hosting for a single domain?
Also, why on cloud I can select the GB of Ram while on Linux hosting is not even described?
Please, help me decide!
