noobie trying to speed things up on WP

I have tons of products on my website, just trying to speed the whole website up. What are something I should look into first? ie, compressing homepage images?
do I need to compress all my product images as well? what are some other things i can do to speed my site up?

Google tells you.
https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/
There you get tons of infos, then w3c for valide code and you should have a fast and well coded site. Sry cant link it directly, i dont have 15 posts.

Wordpress optimization is hard to do, by the book. But there are a few things to consider.

1. Remove unused plugins.
2. Remove CSS/JS code that isn't used.
3. Serve images in WEBP.
4. Use HTTP/2.
5. Serve static files from a CDN.
6. Enable GZIP compression.
7. Cache queries to database.
