I know it's not much to talk about lol but, it's enough to let me know I'm going in the right direction. I just need to scale up.

If you remember, I made a thread a few weeks ago about wanting to make $30,000 in 6 months. I might have to expand that deadline :D. As for the thread, to be honest, I could've been further along had I not spent alot of time over analyzing, researching and scaring myself before I actually put things into motion. I have some savings (<5k) and I didn't want to blow it on some bullsh*t idea.

Anyway, I've delved into e-commerce, as I have some history with that. I put up a website on March 8th, 2012 and as of now, I've made $217 and some change. My goal is to scale the site up to $500/month in the next coming months. My idea is to build 6-8 additional websites (all e-commerce/service/product based) and attempt to make $500.00 from each. I will put up a new website every 1-2 weeks (slow but, i have college to juggle). Doesn't sound too difficult right?

    6 sites making $500.00 a month - $3k/month, $18k/6 months
    8 sites making $500.00 a month - $4k/month, $24k 6 months

If I can automate quickly (as in only checking Paypal -> Filling Orders -> Sending Emails + Promotions), I might try for 10 or more.

I wanted to thank BHW for inspiring me again. I earned somewhat good money online before but, I got seriously discouraged after massive failure. Posting on here made me realize that I needed to get back on the horse.

Do you mind telling what is your e-commerce store?

    congradulations..

Anything you can make even $5.. if the return on investment was good (hopefully 50% or more), you know then you can always scale up and do better.

If you are relying on Paypal as a payment method, I would not bother. Paypal love nothing more than wrecking peoples online businesses for the sake of it. I was doing really well running an eCommerce store many years ago until paypal put and end to it, just for the fun of it.

Good to hear. My problem was if I had changed to a different payment method my profits would have seriously dropped and Paypals attitude to why they suspended my account was "because we can". More like because it had a couple of grand in it and they like to make interest by holding millions of £££ $$$. It is a dirty trick and I am still counting the days till Paypal and Ebay disappear. Their attitude to people who make them money is nothing short of disgusting. Anyway good luck with what you are doing, hope it all goes well.

sometimes i'd create various dummy sites with another gateway and "buy" $500 items from my stores with my PayPal account and push the funds to another bank acct. just in case that situation ever came up. Im not advising you to do that though :D

Sounds like a great start! Just be sure to not get bogged down with too many projects/sites going at once. Its easy to get caught up launching new stuff and not spending enough time on the current projects to make them really profitable. I've just had that problem in the past.

    Good luck!

PayPal freezes accounts for no apparent reason (they say suspicious activity or fraudulent activity)...

    Screw paypal...use 2checkout!

Congratz OP! Scale it up and outsource the boring stuff! Your job should be counting the cash!

I'm not sure what's wrong with PayPal, I've made over 200 transactions with them and never had any major issue.
