Hi All

Newb here.. I Set up my first Autoblog a couple of weeks ago.

I have configured it to auto update these services whenever there is a new post:

Twitter
Facebook
StumbleUpon
Delicious
tumblr
Diigo

I'm not banking on getting any search traffic really as it's a autoblog, mainly hoping to drive traffic from the social networks. I'm using addmefast to gradually follow the social pages/profiles etc

I'm considering trying socialaddr is it worth the $11?

I'm getting 20-60 views a day on the site at the moment. I have earnt £3.50 :)

I put a robots.txt in place which I thought would stop googlebot from indexing it, but they indexed it anyway..

I figure I might as well do some linkbuilding now, just to learn the ropes. I did a bit of directory submission DMOZ etc, and some of those stats sites. I also have 6 'organic' links from the social media stuff. All nofollow so far.

I also tried 247backlinks. but i'm yet to see any actual backlinks from it..

So I'm going to get the free trial of SEnuke and give that a spin.

What kind of profile do I want to build to look 'natural', and how fast?

I'm thinking something like

80% nofollow
20% ********

30% PR0
20% PR1
20% PR2
10% PR3
10% PR4
10% PR 5-6 (in my dreams!)

60% .com
20% .co.uk
10% .org
5% .gov
5% edu

Does that look kinda right?

Should I build 10 links a day to start? 20? 30?

Thanks

Piper

I think your percentage of nofollow is high. A natural link profile is really about diversity. Different types of links (contextual links, image links, video links, sidebar links, blah blah blah links, etc.), different types of anchors (keyword, generic, url) and a gradual/consistent growth in number of backlinks. I don't think you have to try to get as scientific as you did with your proportions - just aim for diversity in every way and you should be ok.

Thanks Politico..

Grazy, Yep I know, It is a bit different to your 'average' autoblog. You'll understand if I don't go into too much detail. Might work, might not but I figured it was worth a punt to get me started..

I have certainly learnt a lot. And don't forget my £3.50! LOL

Hey Piper,

I understand this may seem like a silly question, but why would you not want google to index the site? I know Im obviously missing something Lol

Are you using AdSense? As AutoBlogs on adsense is a sure fire way to get ban as it violates their TOS.
