Noob Question

I have a rough plan of what I want to do to promote affiliate products. My problem is that I want to join CJ to start with and I don't have a website yet. I want to find a product to promote and then make a website around it, but you need a website to sign up with them.

So my question is, can I just make a blogger website about anything? and submit that? I don't want to get turned down right away. I am planning on buying a domain and hosting, but that is after I figure out what I want to promote. I do have an old free wordpress blog that has some content on it, but I'm not sure if a free blog will get me in initially. Thanks for any advice.

Do market research, if you pick a popular product, people may have already been spammed by other sellers so try to take a trendy product and sell the hell out of it. Affiliate marketing is a weird one especially CJ.Tends to loose hype and interest fast so keep at it .

Thanks for your input. I was hoping to use Pinterest to send traffic to a landing page that then went to a product from CJ. I know that there are threads on Pinterest and adsense, but I wanted to try this out. If I can get a couple of accounts and just have one or two promotional boards I thought it could work.

So, does anyone know if CJ will accept a free blog site as a website on the application?

I do plan on getting hosting and a domain, I guess I should do it before I apply to CJ. I just haven't picked out what I will be promoting yet, so I wanted to sign up with CJ and then figure out what I need. I guess maybe I am thinking about it backwards.

When I signed up with Amazon I used a free blogger page to apply and got accepted. That is why I was wondering if CJ worked the same. I wasn't sure if they denied you what the chances were for getting in after that, so I didn't want to just blow it right off.

Just wait, what's the rush? You can always just sign up to it once you've made your site. no one will really buy that much at the start anyway, you won't be missing out on much.

In order to get approved by CJ, I would recommend creating a good looking site with some content on it.

Amazon affiliate ads on blogger is acceptable but i have heard blogs being deleted which were promoting Clickbank , CJ products. And wp is strict about affiliate links. Best option now is to buy shared hosting & a domain which comes cheap nowdays.
