Noob Question - Squeeze Page, AWeber etc.

Hi All,

I'm going to try my hand at email list building and I am at the stage where I need a squeeze page.

What I would like to do is create a squeeze page (opt-in form) in AWeber, but have my domain point directly to the link that AWeber gives you (the opt-in form).

My question is...is it better to create a squeeze page and host it yourself or is it fine to use the AWeber opt-in form as your squeeze page and point your domain to the link AWeber provide? (I would mask it of course).

In case the above is unclear, what I am hoping to achieve is:

1. Purchase domain from godaddy
2. Use AWeber to create an opt-in form that will act as my squeeze page - lets call it squeeze1 opt-in form
3. Create a new sub-domain for my offer e.g. squeeze1
4. Point squeeze1 sub domain to the squeeze1 AWeber opt-in form I have created and mask the AWeber link
5. This way I don't need to purchase any hosting

or

Is it better to purchase hosting and create a squeeze page using WordPress?

I am hesitant about creating my own squeeze page as I'm not confident on how to set everything up. I've watched a few videos now and it's a little confusing.

I think you are a bit confused. Aweber is an autoresponder...has nothing to do with hosting or your website.

You will want to:

1. Buy your domain

2. Get hosting, install wordpress

3. Install the theme you want to use - if you are building a squeeze page there are a million choices...or use a solution such as optimizepress

...now, if you build your site you can generate your autoresponder code with aweber and then post the code on your site...if you use a solution such as optimizepress then you can integrate your aweber account into their pre-made opt in forms.

What I was referring to in relation to hosting was that there is an option in AWeber for them to host your opt-in form rather than generate the HTML or Javascript code and post it on your own site....they give you a link to the form like aweber12324875 etc (i.e. when you put that link into your address bar, it goes to your form).

Can I not just mask this link so it shows up with my domain name instead of the AWeber link?

Man, you have me lost. Don't you want the form ON your page????? Aweber is simple - we use it on several sites - generate a form - put it on your site or put your code into a WP squeeze page.

Maybe someone else can help you...I'm dipping out of this one...
