I was thinking of sending out some bulk emails to a targeted list a scraped from various corners of the web. I'll be using a proxy and a throwaway email account but the email will contain my affiliate link.

could anybody tell me, am I properly covering my arse?

Thanks for reading.

i'm no expert, but i'm pretty sure people usually test for spam trap emails before doing anything.

Wasn't aware of spam traps! Thanks.

Now let me make sure I understand your intent..................you are going to harvest emails then spam those emails with a link which points directly at your affiliate link, which link at the sponsor contains your personal or business information and you want to know if your arse is covered?

if your arse isn't covered now and you do that your arse will end up covered in shit and maybe legal shit because what you are planning to do violates the anti-spam laws in many countries. They WILL find you, they WILL shut down your affiiation and they WILL fuck you to death if they can.

Just asking the questions CyberNight, and thanks for the reply. Now I know and I'll research the legalities more.

Less of the dumb ass shit though. It says noob question in the title, this means I have very little knowledge in this area.

But I'm no dumb-ass.

I know! I was just messing with you! See, what you did was tell us all that you were going to email behind proxies while including in those emails information which would lead directly to your true identity which is kind of counter-productive, if you see what I mean.

Hey, build your own double-opt-in lists and after you get large enough lists, you will be home free and get to spend lots of time by the pool! :)

if you want to build optin.. there is a nice method shared here along time ago about posting at coupon site free stuff in exchange for their emails.
Better than scraping thousend of fake emails.

yes, even I think it is good to build you list using optin forms instead of scraping :-)

It is impossible to cover your ass sending spam (and yes, sending to scraped emails constitutes spam under CAN-SPAM) to a Clickbank link, because no matter how well you hide yourself on the mailing side, you won't get credit for the sales if the affiliate link isn't attached to you.

IF you insist on sending such spam (which I do NOT recommend), your safest option would be to send email to a landing page you've made with an opt-in form, and back up your sign-ups daily. That way, when your spamming operation gets shut down, you at least have SOME email addresses that have opted in to which you can mail in the future ... somewhat legitimately (though acquired in a black hat manner).

How do people claim to be able to inbox thousands of email per day with proxies and throw-away accounts and ip cloaking? If they are going to get the product or link shut down, what's the point to sending all of these emails out?

I wanted to send my product information to what will probably end up being someone else's scraped list because I don't have the tools to do it myself. I have these links going to my personal website landing page with an optin form on it. But I don't want this product to get negatively hit from doing it that way.

Thanks for all the replies guys.
I'm gonna completely scrap any kind of spamming related methods, seems that shit just isn't worth it. I don't want to run before I can walk, fall over, and smash my face in.
I'm off to learn some list building techniques using freebies and content locking.

Again, thanks for the heads up.
