Noob question - Buying and selling

Hi,

I realize these are complete noob questions but I hope someone could help me anyways.
Haven`t bought any cryptos yet but I`m planning to. My questions are these:

1) Let`s say- hypothetically- today I buy one bitcoin for 10,000$. Within a week, the bitcoin hits the 12,000$ mark. Could I just sell the bitcoin the same day without any problem and get those 12,000$? Or how does it work?

2) What`s the best page to buy and sell? I`ve registered with coinbase but a lot of people don`t seem to recommend them. Also, it seems I can only buy Bitcoins, Ethereum and Litecoin there and none of the others.

Seriously, it is too complicated to jump in now as a complete noob. You can’t think easy of it, I’m sorry to say. The exchange sites aren’t user friendly so I suggest 2 things:
1. Do the work and get into trading/stock markets and block chain technology.
2. Invest your money in BTC for the long term after it crashes/corrects. This might take a while.
