Noob Question about godaddy domain (website)

So, basically I bought godaddy domain like a week ago, and I finally got hosting for it and installed wordpress on cpanel. I did this for the first time in my life, and yet when I go to my domain, it still says courtesy of godaddy, and to launch it I think I have to buy their hosting. Is this true, or am I doing something wrong. Help would be appreciated.

Did you move your domain, change the DNS Domain NameServers?
are you hosting @ godaddy?
also it takes up to 48 for propagation (although usually instantly with godaddy)

I am not hosting at godaddy... It can't be truth that they require their hosting after you bought their domain?

No, you don't have to host with goDaddy. You just have to set-up the domain nameservers so that your domain actually points to your hosting.

Ok thanks, but it said on that link to go to that modify menu and pick standard which is already done that way, and that are nameservers. I went to custom, and added name servers like they say from hosting I have... Right now it still isn't working right, but I will wait at least 24 hours before doing anything. Hopefully it will come quickly.
 
it is not Compulsory to buy a hosting from godaddy if you have domain
you can change the nameserver in the domain mgmt
and yes it will take 24-48 hour to be update with new hosting
