Lets say my keyword was "softcore" (it is actually *********core) and softcore (0m was taken. Am I better off getting a soft-core (0m or softcore(some other extension) with the intact keyword? My noob sense is tingling and it is telling me to go with the intact keyword domain, just want to be sure :p

Your noob sense is correct :) - go with the intact keyword domain followed by another extension.

i have seen .info ranked #1 on google so really its up to you and how much seo you want to put in i would go for a .net or .org first tho if the .com is taken

How will people get to the website? Do they have to remember the URL, find it on Google, or click on an Email?

As long as they do not have to remember and manually type it, it can be a long-tail URL with all of your keywords and dashes.

If they are manually typing it, it needs to be easy. Does your competition have domainname.com in case someone forgets to go to domain-name.com? If so, that is an issue.

Don't be affrait to use the dash and include multiple keywords within your URL and use a .com. Perception has a lot to do with a visitors clicks.

thnx, I'll go with the full keyword one this time
