Noob Proxy Questions

If I want a private proxy, it looks like the price is around $10.00 if I buy in bulk. Alternatively, I can just buy a program like Scrapebox and use public proxies, from what I gather. Let's say that I want some private proxies as well.

I'm under the impression that proxies are typically creating using web hosting. If one does this, is it cheaper to pay for a host and setup your own proxies that way? Or am I missing something?

Thanks. I rated your thread by mistake. I was trying to see if clicking it would tell me why someone rated it low. Sorry about that. If someone knows how to fix it feel free. I don't know why I thought that. Noob moment yet again. I also have a strong suspicion one person rated it and they are a person who is a nub.

proxies are real important specially when using scrapebox. public shared proxies are mostly abused. there are tons of offers here you can check.

go with private proxies, theres a couple well reviewed sellers here on BHW. make sure you do youre homework first tho and read all the reviews.

well over the last 6 months ive
dealt with alot of customers so
its always a good idea to give a
person honest advice rather than
say buy my proxies - thats not realy
advice hes getting but a product plug.

proxies used in scrape box depend on a few
things - how often you use it -

the opinions i have gathered from users of scrapebox
weather they bought proxies from me or not was
if your a low user of the tool u can get away with a small
batch of 10 private proxies 30-50$ a month and that isnt
a plug - i dont do private proxies.

however some users also can get away with using public
proxies - if - u have the right source. dont bother with the
public ones in scrape box there to over used .

with public proxies - the more people sharing the same pool
of proxies the faster they die - with the free proxies pulled
from scrapebox u may get a few working but not many as
thousands of people use that pool of proxies from within the tool.

i personaly provide the public proxies scraped cleaned and posted
from 999 urls - bout 1000 a day posted at my place.

also money comes into play - the most common use of proxies
i hear s/box users doing is - public proxies for scraping and a small
batch of 10 private for posting - its all down to budget how u approach
s/box .

my advice read in the proxie for sale section here theres a few threads of
proxie sellers doing proxies for scrape box - read there sales thread, there
sales pitch , then deciede. its always best to read post 1 of any sales thread.

That was a pretty good reply proxygo. I would add that not only is it a good idea to read post 1, but also read through the next page or so to see what kind of reviews were given when the sales thread started. Then go to the last post, and start reading in reverse order to see if you can find more recent reviews as well as an updated price list. On long running threads the price might have been updated a few times. If the thread is only a few pages long it's a good idea to actually read all the replies, but on longer threads that isn't always feasable.

advertise in there thread title that there proxies
work on s/box so i always say read there first
post it will tell u if what the seller has is related
to s/box - if it isnt u save alot of reading.

but if there pitch mentions s/box then by all means
read on

I guess it's just that reading post number 1 seems so obvious to me. I don't think I would ever consider reading a thread without looking at post 1 first. Without it the thread wouldn't exist. LOL.

But I guess there probably are people out there that would come across a link to a post in the middle of a thread or go straight to the last post without going back to look at the first one. If that's the case I would almost say they deserve what they get, (especially if they're planning to buy something). But yeah I guess you're right, it's better to just try to educate them instead. :beerchug:

trust me wolf ive had few people buy my service
even though it clearly says in post 1 what its for.
then a week later i get - why dont these proxies
work on something else. even i have make all buyers
aware b4 any transaction this is what there for.
some people just dont bother to read - they just
see the word proxies - lolz

Ok guys, please be a little be supportive and help me with this proxy thing. I perfectly understand that to build something serious you need good tools and private proxies are just like that. I need a good list of private proxies -- from reliable provider. I can of course go through the treads and try to figure out things by myself but if you could help me with a sound advice and save my time I'll be so thankful.

Sorry about that, didn't mean to hijack the thread. My best advice for you would be to look through the bst threads for proxy services and like I said about read the first post to make sure you know what they're selling, then look through the first reviews, then go to the end look for the latest reviews, then search backward till you find the most current prices.

I know that seems like more work than you want to do, but that's the best way to do it. Like proxygo said, all your going to get in a thread like this is a lot of people pushing their own service. If you do you're own "due dilligence" checking then you'll probably have a much better chance of not getting scammed.

So far the best advice has been from proxygo in reply #7. Even if you don't use his service, he's letting you know what to look for when you're searching.

dude, don't buy private proxies... I believe there is a thread around here called "how to master proxies" or something like that, just use that, and when you are using Scrapebox... don't click "google" just click everything else, it should work normally.
