Noob Proxy Question

I'm a noob xD

Are proxy Gateways Good or Bad? Does it matter?
For the port, does it matter between 8080, 8090, 80, etc?

there's no real difference between the port numbers when you see big lists of proxies - 80, 8080, 3128 etc are just standard proxy ports that are common for http post functions.

Proxies can be good and bad it depends on what you're planning to use it for.

In some cases just using proxies won't be enough and you would be better of with VPN.

I have a question too. When I try to run mozilla with a proxy ip it just loads and never opens the site....

Proxies are generally a good thing, without them most of our business wouldn't be the same as it is now..

tell us for what you gonna use proxies and then we can tell you will they be good or bad to use..

how about gateways, some proxies have them, some dont. Does that matteR? And im using them for Youtube, but im getting some rarely used ones, not public. So far my accounts don't get banned but i haven't tried uploading vids yet, so i guess the proxies are good for now.

the port really doesnt matter ... you cant tell if a proxy is good or bad by the port number ...
There are some institutions that have every port blocked from server side so you are able to get into internet only using a proxy with a particular port ...

A proxy gateway is an module that receives Web service requests and forwards the requests to a defined endpoint. The endpoints are defined in groups called proxy groups.
are you referring to this when you say gateway ?
