Google is often really hard to understand
Average is just that, average. You're going to have high numbers and low numbers that bring you to that number. Some people are paying on the high end, some on the low end. I'm not a PPC expert, but quality score goes into determining your CPC, which is further based on CTR and your landing page. So maybe you need to look into those things.
Ah I see! I didn't really see there was a correlation between the quality of my landing page and the CPC. That could explain things as the landing page is not even half finished.. I wanted to see if the CPC was viable before spending hours and hours finishing the landing page!
Maybe there just isn't any short cuts .
