    Hi

I started building my first website a month ago.
I set up my website using Drupal and then started looking for content (i found it in books, CDs and encyclopedias), i do some translating (google French to English) and then i do a small review of it, and i put adsense ads
I think my website is well optimized for SE (meta tags, keyword density, h1, h2,...) and i built some backlinks (about 10).
    All i am doing now is writing 1 or 2 articles per week;
all my web pages are indexed by google BUT i still not getting traffic nor impressions !

should i be just more patient, or i missed something ?

    Thanks

You missed that only the content is not the solution :)
You need to build some links and do some social.
Of course if at your blog writing for so WOW things that could happen automatically.
Give patience and soon you will see things moving.

    Ashraf09,

You will have to give it more than a month. Time is also a small part of your success. It takes time but it also takes a quality product and a lot of effort put into promotion. Your number of backlinks is also very small. Do you know where you are falling in serps for your given keywords? I would just keep doing what you are doing and you should start seeing some traffic soon.

    Best,

    Shawn

You need to turn your website into an authority website in order to attract significant targeted traffic in the long run.

Do some social bookmarking, submit your site to top directories, Try to get some backlinks through forum signatures. But use unique contents while you build backlinks. Thank you

On new sites I usually submit to Stumbleupon and then there's a fiverr gig that will stumble 15 pages on your site with an old, established and highly active account. This has brought me in some good traffic quickly and some of it was from the types of visitors that I was after. Use the gig from redbayron2006.

You need to work hard and hard , At least you need to spend 3-4 months. And when It reaches the 1st page (only after your efforts) then there shall be more traffic to your site.

If you need traffic so badly then you should go for Paid Networks ie advertising your site to paid networks which has huge traffic.

Try to create backlinks and use social networks for driving traffic such as FB, Twitter and Pinterest etc.

    Ashraf,

For some of the sites that I have produced or helped with in the past, we generally started seeing good traffic levels after a few months of concerted effort. Keep in mind that no one will have the same results because there isn't necessarily a rule that says no matter what you will start getting traffic after a couple months or after five months or whatever. The amount, frequency, and quality of traffic that you receive is directly proportional to the effort you put in. It is just like promoting anything else. The more of the right kind of effort you put in, the faster and better your results will be.

As far as checking your position in SERPs for a given keyword, there are a number of ways you can accomplish this. You can set your site up in webmaster tools and Google will provide you with average position for given keywords, you can use a third party program like rank tracker to do this as well. You can also determine your position via customized code installed in Google analytics (although that method only gives you the average position for visitors who actually used a keyword and then visited your website).

Justin Cutroni has a pretty good post on how to implement that kind of tracking in Google Analytics,

    http://cutroni.com/blog/2013/01/14/a-new-method-to-track-keyword-ranking-using-google-analytics/

    best,

    Shawn
