Hi all.

I've spent the last week or so patrolling the BHW, trying to figure it all out, but I just don't get it. Let me tell you what I DO get, and maybe some kind-hearted soul will clue me in on the stuff I DON'T get.

I get that I go to clickbank and pick my products. What I've done is pick five a week.(Ex: 37 days to clean credit)

I get that I research targeted, long tail keywords. What I've been doing is finding keywords with more than 1,000 searches per month avg, with between 1k-5k results on Google. 30 per product. (ex: improve your credit rating)

I get that writing articles is important. What I've been doing is writing 1 article per keyword researched, for a total of 30 articles per product. So far, I have submitted all of them to goarticlesDOTcom, because I didn't have my own domain/website, and my eyes are perfect, so I don't know jack about lenses (joke) (Ex: How To Improve Your Credit Rating in 6 Easy Steps)

I get that the key is the author info box. I haven't actually been putting anything about the author in there, just a blurb/affiliate link directly to vendor. This may or may not be cool, I don't know (Ex: Don't let bad credit hold you back! Click HERE! for a comprehensive strategy for reclaiming your credit score)

I also feel like I understand the various other means by which I can draw traffic, including social networking, branded ebooks on torrents, basic SEO. I know that I can draw traffic to a website, if I have one.

Here's where things get hinky for me. I now have a domain and hosting... and I haven't the faintest what to put on it. Do I make a landing page? If so, aren't I simply convincing them to click through to the vendor's LP? Do I make it a squeeze page, and hope to get them on a newsletter campaign? Do I make it a simple redirect? If I do, then do I have to get a new domain for every product? That seems like it would suck.

I know that this is the crucial point, and I AM MISSING IT! I am not a stupid person, but sometimes I see the big picture too well to make out the vital detail that can derail the whole thing.

Couple of other points: Content is not a big problem. I can churn out fairly high quality, original articles/blog posts very, very quickly. Say 4-6 per hour. I would like to make the site I have fairly generic, but I just don't know how to generate the click-through to the vendor. I don't know much about html or building websites, but between shortcut software, and 'learn html' websites, I'm fairly confident that I can figure it out.

Again, I'm sure I can generate traffic to a website. My only real confusion is how to best direct that traffic to multiple vendors. Any suggestions would be welcome. I'm sure it's staring me right in the face....

Seems like you have it mostly down.

Haven't seen your articles so can't really comment on that but you need to presell in those articles. Basically write articles that say you can be completely screwed if you don't fix your credit now. Don't advertise your affiliate in the article, make them feel like they need to take immediate action.

But I would setup a squeeze page (all article submissions point to this) to get them to sign up and create an email list.

Then run an autoresponder series giving them some free info and then every once in awhile drop in one of your affiliate links.

Post your articles to larger article sites like ezine or ac. Some of the products you can just direct link to your cb landing page, others you'll need to create your own landing page for..

For your domain/posting, just do something like:
Code:
<?php
require 'http://hop3433.product.clickbank.com';
?>
Save it in /www as index.php

Seems like you have it mostly down

Thank you for that. Sometimes I wonder if I'm not just mis-reading all of this.

But I would setup a squeeze page (all article submissions point to this) to get them to sign up and create an email list.

Yeah, this is what I figured, for long-term success. My only hesitation lies in that they are all fired up about credit repair, and the 'action' I want them to take is... signing up for my newsletter? Long-term, I can re-sell again and again... great! But I want to take advantage of that initial impulse.

Also, and pretty important, if I am promoting 'credit repair' on one day, and 'acne solutions' the next...how can I utilize my one domain for both? Or can I? If I don't have the ability to purchase a bunch of domains (and I don't), how can I direct to a squeeze page for both on one domain? Would I be better off to choose a series of related products?

Some of the products you can just direct link to your cb landing page, others you'll need to create your own landing page for..

Ok, and thanks for the advice on EA and AC. Now that I have a domain, I can work with those directories. But, as for the above, how do you know the difference? I mean, when one and when the other?

For your domain/posting, just do something like:

A redirect, correct? Ok, and I figured that that would be simplest for those programs with good LPs of their own. I guess what I keep coming back to is...

I'm just starting out (if you didn't guess), and I can't afford multiple domain/hosting scenarios. Is there a 'best' or 'most effective' way to utilize ONE domain to promote multiple products? Or no-cost methods for redirect? I seem to remember someone saying that you could utilize blogspot for that, but I didn't get how from the instructions...

Thanks again, and always, for your suggestions and comments...

ok i will add in bits as needed

just pick a few within the same niche to start with, try and get ones with a high gravity if they are from clickbank

I get that I research targeted, long tail keywords. What I've been doing is finding keywords with more than 1,000 searches per month avg, with between 1k-5k results on Google. 30 per product. (ex: improve your credit rating)

1k-5k results in google? not sure why you are doing them so low, i would advise keywords that have at least 1000 searches a month and up to 500k competing sites depending on how popular the niche is - more popular less competing sites

i.e Nike trainers would be more popular than Tortoise Remedies - if u get my meaning

I get that writing articles is important. What I've been doing is writing 1 article per keyword researched, for a total of 30 articles per product. Ok articles - not as important as you think - but if you want to do articles post to places like Amazines which syndicate out to other places too - you can easily research which ones

I get that the key is the author info box. I haven't actually been putting anything about the author in there, just a blurb/affiliate link directly to vendor. one thing you must do - ALWAYS cloak your affiliate links - read up about this and find a free software to cloak them - you need your links to look like

Code:
[url]www.mysite.com/credit/37-days-to-clean-credit[/url]
and not those horrid affiliate links clickbanks dishes out

I also feel like I understand the various other means by which I can draw traffic, including social networking, branded ebooks on torrents, basic SEO. I know that I can draw traffic to a website, if I have one.

Traffic = quality ******** backlinks = high position in google rankings

i would always rather be ranked number one for a keyword in google than write 100 articles.

As your a beginner - set up a wordpress blog on your hosting, write an intro page and have that as your home page, then create a page for each of your products your selling - either a sales or review and link through using your cloaked link - study sales pages of your competitors and see what they do that appeals

Create backlinks for keywords to the product pages using the keyword as the anchor in the backlink

in wordpress its all pretty much point and click for adding images and links etc

Again, I'm sure I can generate traffic to a website. My only real confusion is how to best direct that traffic to multiple vendors. Any suggestions would be welcome. I'm sure it's staring me right in the face....

Keyword as anchor in link - to wordpress page - to vendor page via cloaked link

Thats the basics - after that LEARN SEO and you will be on your way

just pick a few within the same niche to start with, try and get ones with a high gravity if they are from clickbank

Ok, this makes some sense... What I am doing here is setting the 'theme' of my domain, correct? So, I could have a 'Personal Finance' website, with categories including 'Credit Repair'.... am I right?

1k-5k results in google? not sure why you are doing them so low, i would advise keywords that have at least 1000 searches a month and up to 500k competing sites depending on how popular the niche is - more popular less competing sites

I think I do... My understanding was that to dominate the longtail keword, I would need to find low competition phrases. IE: "improve your credit rating fast" as opposed to "improve credit". One has 1,600 results (when searched in quotes), while the other has over 404,000. So, while I'll get ranked in both, I have a better chance to be first page when people type in 'improve your credit rating fast' w/o quotes, which gets searched about 1,100 times a month. Or, so I understand it. If I'm wrong there, please, please someone tell me... because it will save me gobs of research time.

Ok articles - not as important as you think - but if you want to do articles post to places like Amazines which syndicate out to other places too - you can easily research which ones

Again, my understanding was that the articles were very important, both to generate backlinks (which I still don't really understand), and to drive search engine traffic. I was hoping to use this as a base to build on, rather than the main traffic generation. If that makes sense. I can easily submit quality rewrites to multiple directories, if that drives traffic.

and not those horrid affiliate links clickbanks dishes out

Correct me where I'm wrong... this 'cloaked' link is on mysite, not the article itself, right? And the link should look as though it is actually directing to another area on mysite, while it actually leads to the affiliate link. Why couldn't I actually direct to mysiteDOTcom/credit/37-days-to-clean-credit, with a simple redirect on that page?

As your a beginner - set up a wordpress blog on your hosting, write an intro page and have that as your home page, then create a page for each of your products your selling - either a sales or review and link through using your cloaked link - study sales pages of your competitors and see what they do that appeals

This makes a ton of sense, and basically answers the main question of my OP. Def worth a Thanks. Using the keword in the anchor is an obvious bit of genius, can't believe I missed it.

Keyword as anchor in link - to wordpress page - to vendor page via cloaked link

Summed up nicely. This is about what I had figured, but wasn't really confident in my thought process, and didn't want to do the work unless I was sure it was what I wanted to do. Thanks for the reinforcement, and there was some good stuff in here that I hadn't considered at all, or am not positive that I understand.

I still welcome suggestions and advice, of course, but the main question has been answered, I think. Thanks to all who posted, and while I still have a million questions, I do NOT want to come across as one of those limpet noobs who needs their hands held constantly. I guess I'm trying to figure out how to say 'keep those suggestions coming' without saying 'god, please, somebody do all my thinking for me'... So, I've got some work to do, but I'll keep checking this thread in case I get some more great advice.

Final note: I'm gonna get this. I'm gonna pin this down and bend it to my will. And when I'm smoking cigars on the back deck, watching the kids play instead of explaining to them why I have to go to work for the majority of their waking lives, I will tell anyone who asks me that I owe it all to Black Hat World.

focus on one produce buddy rather than trying multiple things at the same time. pick one vendor, test it with 1000 clicks with good landing page and if dont make money then move on to anothe type of product. dont rush it. pick one, optimize and scale.

Ok, this makes some sense... What I am doing here is setting the 'theme' of my domain, correct? So, I could have a 'Personal Finance' website, with categories including 'Credit Repair'.... am I right?

Yes you are correct - tho refer to it being a Niche rather than Theme

I think I do... My understanding was that to dominate the longtail keword, I would need to find low competition phrases. IE: "improve your credit rating fast" as opposed to "improve credit". One has 1,600 results (when searched in quotes), while the other has over 404,000. The way i would look at it is, if theres only 1600 websites, does it mean its not very popular and hard to get sales from.

Also something you will want to consider as you go forwards, check out where users are in the world that actually do search, for example check if theres a monthly figure for number of local searches compared to global searches.
Theres no point trying to sell - "How to fix your credit rating in USA" - if only 20% of your global searches are from US as each countries credit repair process could be different

Take your keyword and see how many articles appear in the first page of googles results, the answer - not many if any. Majority of searchers will only visit the first 2 pages of google results. So its far more important to be ranked on first page of google than to write articles to get visitors.

Nothing wrong with doing it, just dont make it a priority

Backlinks and rankings far more important

Correct me where I'm wrong... this 'cloaked' link is on mysite, not the article itself, right? And the link should look as though it is actually directing to another area on mysite, while it actually leads to the affiliate link. Why couldn't I actually direct to mysiteDOTcom/credit/37-days-to-clean-credit, with a simple redirect on that page?

yes cloaked link will be on your site, and it will take the visitor to your site to the sales page of the clickbank vendor

mysiteDOTcom/credit/37-days-to-clean-credit is just an example of a cloaked link, theres not actually anything their other than a file that redirects to your clickbank hoplink

A cloaked link just stops or lessens others stealing your sales, read up on cloaked links and you will understand

This makes a ton of sense, and basically answers the main question of my OP. Def worth a Thanks. Using the keword in the anchor is an obvious bit of genius, can't believe I missed it.

Its worth it, apart from the time you get to have a life.

Just dont expect to be making milllions quickly, it takes time to learn the basics and how to fit it all together, you will learn new stuff every day, and have many failures too, but watching the first $100, $1000, $10,000 etc etc roll in each month drives you on even more.

NOW GO LEARN SEO and BUILD A WORDPRESS BLOG :D

You should switch to ezinearticles and in the author box, you want to create a link to your landing page.

Use your domain with landing page to pre sell your visitors. On the bottom, have a link to the main vendor site! If you want tips and help go ahead and send me a PM!

Also when you submit an article put a link in to your main site, or blog (Not your affiliate link, but your main blog or website.
You could add a bold your keyword and highlight it, but don't overdue it to much. I do about three times in an article for Ezine, cause they are the most pain in the ass. Also do them first, cause they take the longest too.

Here are some examples to use

<a href=?http://www.yourblog.com/%E2%80%9D>yourkeyword</a> category Keyword as the Anchor Text
this hides your website under the keyword

Here are some Article Directories to submit to

^nice article list up there

Anyways, just stay focused on your niche and try not to stray and resist temptation to try a million strategies. The scope of info provided here is wild. That was my problem (and still is). Focus focus focus or you'll never succeed...and if you fail, at least you learned what not to do.

Hey nothing to worry...
You are doing right...I am also doing same but i have another twist. I do article marketing and instead of creating landing pages or website for every niche i simply shorten my link an directly send my article visitors to my CB product. Also, i prefer those CB advertisers which offers some FREE incentive to their visitors or some FREE E-Book. Advertiser must have opt-in list at their homepage or landing page, so there are chances to convert visits into sales.

Article marketing works for me...

Thanks,

Again, my understanding was that the articles were very important, both to generate backlinks (which I still don't really understand)

The more links you have to a given site (called backlinks), the better that site will rank as a general rule. That's one of the main concepts behind SEO. Yes, the quality of the links matters, how many backlinks each of those sites have, the age of the backlinks, the speed at which you built those links, and so on...but for the most part you want as many links as possible to your site. Search engines interpret the links as "votes" for your site and rank you higher.

The idea is not that surfers will be reading those articles on the article directories. It's that website owners will take those articles and put them on their sites and leave the byline (or author info box, as you called it). Some do leave it, some don't. If they do leave it, the byline would contain a link to your site. Those would be free backlinks to your site which would help you rank for a given keyword.

So what you put on your site is some original content (not the articles you've submitted) promoting whatever products you are. You could buy an all-purpose domain for that, or like one domain for health-related, one for finance-related, etc.

However credit repair is an extremely competitive niche. Even the longtail is competitive. You should start with something easier so you can get results more quickly and build up confidence.

I'd like to know, how do you know that a niche is competitive? Is it by the gravity from CB? I understand that it may be fake. Not only that, do you use GAKT to determine it? If the competition is 'HIGH' then it's a competitive niche? Or..?

Hopefully he will return from his 3 year absence from BHW to answer your question
