[noob journey] Trying to make money with affiliate programs

Your journey looks good. What is your traffic so far?

I was just about to update about that. My traffic comes from French speaking countries, mainly France and Belgium. I started promoting the site only a few days ago on Facebook and Twitter and got a few followers so far. I've had 70 visits, 27 visitors just today.

Update:

Things start to look pretty good. I got a few likes on my facebook page. I also have a few followers on my Twitter and Pinterest accounts. The problem is that my Twitter account got locked twice in two days because of Tweepi that I use to follow people. I'll have to be careful, I don't want it to be permanbanned.

I've had 70 visitors since Is started promoting the site a few days ago, 27 visits just for today. Someone clicked on one of my affiliate links. Not sure if they bought anything, I doubt it but that's still pretty amazing for just a few days of promotion. According to my stats, I got 3 visitors from google. It either means that google bots are spying on my site (right?), which would be a good thing, or that I already ranked for a keyword. I don't which one though. In any case, I'm pretty happy with the results. I still have a lot of articles to write and a lot of promotion to do.

Hi!

I just checked the stats on google and I noticed that the number of pages indexed on google has decreased. It went from 37 to 35. I was just wondering if any of you knew why it would happen and if there's was anything I could do to increase it. I'm posting more content everyday, up to 5 articles a day.

Thanks!

Update:

I created a total of 22 blogs so far. I posted 5 articles on 10 of them, so I got 50 articles that I copied and pasted from other unpopular blogs I found. I'll create 5 new blogs tomorrow and will repeat the process and I'll wait a couple of weeks to add 5 articles on every single one of them. I should have 30 blogs by the end of the week, every single one of them with articles. I'll let them age for a month before starting to post links to my website.

I also updated a wikipedia page related to my niche and I posted two links to articles on my website as a source. I hope they will stick. I provided legit information so it should be ok.

Also, does anybody know how long it usually take for softwares such as Traffic Travis to find backlinks? It doesn't show anything now, but I don't expect it to find the backlinks right away. It's just to have an idea of what strategies work. Thanks!

If you only copy and paste all your content you won't ever have a chance to get it indexed and on a traffic bringing spot.

I don't copy content for my site, I just did that for the blogs I run. But I don't think it's a good idea either. I decided to created new blogs with content I'll write myself. It will take forever though.

New update:

I've been getting quite a lot of traffic because of an article I wrote that kinda got viral. Apparently, I wrote a news article about something that Japanese people were not aware of. An artist tweeted a link to my site and I got 600+ visitors from Japan in less than 2 days. Too bad, I'm targetting France...

Anyway, I've started writing articles on blogs that I created on wordpress, blogger, overblog and other platforms. I'll do that for about a month before starting writing articles with a link to my main website.

I've started building links by making blog comments and joining forums where I try to stay active. I post my links in signatures when possible. Otherwise, I create fake posts asking a question and I answer the questions on another account which I post a link to my website with. I'm trying to build up to 5 backlinks a day. It's not easy though. I may stop commenting on blogs as the links are always nofollow, it's a waste of time in my opinion. I have 2 links to my website on a wikipedia page, on a wikia page and on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Google +, which are nofollow.

It is kinda frustrating to get backlinks without seeing results right away. I don't know when I'm going to see my site increase rank and it kinda feels like I'm working for nothing and that it's a huge waste of time, but I'll stick to it :p We'll see.
