Noob Journey to $1000

I've been reading a few journeys on BHW and feel inspired. So I am going to start my own journey to try to reach $1000 online. Reading lots is fine but it doesn't do anything for my bottom-line if I don't take action. Right now I have nothing so starting from a blank slate. Sometimes it feels that every possible niche is not only taken but totally saturated, if you know what I mean, and there is no room for a beginner to get in. Here goes. Wish me luck! :)

Thanks to cyrusmoney I am going to use his cool style of displaying progress. I'm even going to keep the 90 day chart to give a bit more of a timeline goal!

I purchased some web hosting off a BHW member today ($90) but haven't logged in or created my website yet. I may outsource to Fiverr for my website.

you have started a journey thread but did not mention what is it about and what your action plan going to and how are you going to monetize let us know so that the interested ones can follow..
 
good luck man. its funny how when your mindset changes that results come about. deciding to take action is perfect. but as you say you need to follow through and take action. now you have a plan start doing it. if there is anything you think wont actually contribute to your final goal - dont do it. just keep working and only do tasks that further your efforts.

you can also share some information as to what you are doing. obviously dont go into full details so people steal your shit. but some information actually helps you. there are many people here who just chime in with good info all the time.

$90 is pretty expensive for webhosting especially if you're just starting out. Did you buy a few years in advance?
 
Good luck, and don't say that there is no room for you in a niche just because it's saturated! it's 2015 almost all niches are saturated Now, but that's a good sign that the niche is profitable, remember don't reinvent the wheel. just stick with what others did to make money and you will be making money too. :)

Its a VPS as I plan to make/outsource several websites - more than would be feasible hosting them one at a time. So this cost covers me for the 90 days. I have my first site up and running now and am just finishing off a squeeze page for my funnel. Next step is to drive a bit of traffic. I should do some analytics and even some A/B split testing but at this early stage I'd rather just get the ball rolling. Plus I'm old and too lazy right now!

yes you are so right there. It might be saturated but if you do the proper work, you can and will succeed.
 
Some messing around with WordPress tonight trying to finish the squeeze page. Stupid permalinks! Gah! Google Analytics is working though. A bit of messing around with one off mail setup still to go and then in the next few days hopefully I'll start advertising for real traffic. I see that a lot of FB likes and Twitter posts people advertise are just to bots. Don't want to get scammed but it's hard to avoid sometimes. I hope I get some actual traffic from social because PPC with Adwords looks to be mighty expensive.

Made some great progress with a new product too. Far from ready but coming along nicely and looks promising. I'll need to test the prototype in the market first to gauge how well it works before i can sell it though.

Well I am flattered that you are following my journey and my method but remember that I am not raking in cash like an ATM machine on steroids the way some members on BHW are.

Yes, I absolutely have a plan. Mostly around building websites. However, I am a big believer in having your own product and also in recurring income. So some of these will be membership sites plus I am having some "seriously" cool secret software developed for me which is really nice because it is unique. I won't package up and sell the software until it is thoroughly tested and battle hardened. I'm quite ethical like that.


Yes, I plan to buy traffic but also organic. Organic traffic is from people that naturally come across your sites and apps.

Zero for now but I've not put out any offer yet. ;)

Added privacy policy to site tonight and have prepared for some paid advertising. Until I get the form complete I can't commence the ads though. Also went through some domain names in preparation for additional websites that will be added shortly.
