Greetings everyone, I recently got started in the world of proxies and this kind of stuff. I need to browse all kind of social media websites (mainly the typical ones, youtube, twitter, tumblr, google+, soundcloud... Etc) anonymously. I want to hide my real IP as much as possible when browsing the internet.

Now, I'm a little confused since I know there are lots of kinds of private proxies for lots of websites. I know there exist dedicated proxies for youtube, twitter, etc, but I know as well that a proxy that works on a website may have problems in another website. I'm not sure if in the case I buy proxies, it would be better to buy few dedicated to general media, or how many proxies I should buy.

In the other hand, I know there also are VPNs, but I know even less about them. I know they are configured differently to work, and (I think) proxies work only on browsers, meanwhile VPNs work for the whole computer? I'm a little lost.

So, what would be the best alternative for me? Thanks in advance.
