NOOB here. Appreciate any responses

First of, I would like to apologize if I ask questions that can already be found on this forum. I did best I could to look through the information, but honestly this site has so much info that at times its rather difficult to get exactly what you are looking for, and when I did find it I was flooded with so much information that by the end I couldn't even figure out if my question has been answered lol. So il just start off with my questions and feel free to answer them or provide a link. If you take your time to answer anything please keep the answers simple without going into too much detail. Reason is, I would like to get a general idea on everything, and then work out the details. I'm not looking for something to get "rich quick" but ive been reading somethings online and this looks something like something that I would be interested in doing on the side if I get it figured out lol. 1) Alright first off what exactly is Blackhat? How does it specifically differ from whitehat (an example would be nice). Please excuse me if I sound ridiculous but from what I understand, is it just a tricky way to include advertisements on a website, that when clicked on and has user info put it=$??

2) Do you require your own website, someone else's website?

3) If this type of thing requires your own website, What are the major steps for setting up a website that would have potential of earning money? Meaning does it usually require something from YOUR site, or a link to another site. For example Lets say I made a website that had products from amazon or some other site, on my site, and when clicked on it would send the user to amazon to order that product. Would that equal a profit?

I guess those are the major three questions I have at this time. I know more will arise once I get a better picture but for now im just trying to get a better picture. Again, I apologize if I came off completely stupid but any responses would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Generally some people say Black hat techniques are forced links vs white hat are unforced. Grey hat seems to be what most people use for link building. Other black hat techniques are like cookie stuffing, weird redirects or framing, etc. Usually it takes some effort.

You can make money on your websites or other people's sites. Most people want to own the property.

For the profit thing, you should do niche research there are plenty of topics here on that.

We do black hat techniques to rank sites, mostly involving link building. Ive never had any luck with onpage tricks.

Blackhat is anything outside of google's guidelines, whitehat it going with google's guidelines. i.e blackhat: spamming heaps of blogs, i.e whitehat: build a facebook and twitter page. Black/White is not a helpful distinction, instead think seo that works and seo that doesn't work.

if your using google adsense yes. If your using other affiliate offers, no the user has to buy the product from another site and you get the revenue share.
