I posted this in the introduction forum but not so many people browse there, so I'm going put it here.
I am just confused with affiliate marketing. I have to have a website in order to get accepted by CJ? But I would like to know the promotions instead in order to build a site around that. Is that possible?
Also what would be the best route for me to take a step into IM? Should I go with PPC instead of affilaites?
Sorry for the newb questions and thanks for your time!

I was accepted into CJ immediately. You could try building a site around it.
 
Really, I read that its mandatory to have a website? When I tried to register they ask you for one.
 
You don't have any website at all? I just used a silly website I own. Try with a blogspot, they will probably take it.
 
Personally, I would advise you to stick around here and research more viable methods on making money. See which one works best with your personality.

Also, what are you aiming for? Short or long term?

Short term/quick returns: Flipping sites, ebay
Long term: Building your product, own authority site, expanding that one site's cred/popularity.

I went for the latter. Be patient and invest now, for a better later.
 
I would definitely stay away form starting with PPC. You will need a generous amount of money for testing, and you can easily lose a lot of money in a short period of time. Read some books on it, and in the mean time throw up a site you can monetize with affiliate links.

I'm looking for long term and also to just learn for now.

If for example I make a weight lose blog/site, will I only get offers relating to weight lose?
