Noob Help!

Hello everyone, I'm trying to grow my Twitter account and pretty much realized you have to get your own followers if you want real ones so I was wondering what follow and unfollow limits I should adhere to, to not get banned. Also how long should I wait before I unfollow people? Is there a way that I can automate this? I only need to do this for one account therefore I see no point in buying a bot. I have about 800 followers and I'm following 300. Any help would be appreciated, thank you guys so much!
