Noob help with seo page speed

1. While trying to increase page speed, I am checking my google score. I generally have good score of my posts/page(as it has less images), but my home page has a bad score. (now this is after i do cache, lazy load, compress images, minify etc.) Is it important to have a good score for the whole site, or the main aim should be to improve the page speed score of the post/page you are trying to rank?

2. Initially I tried Bimber theme, but i could not improve its performance beyond a certain point. (google speed score of 78, mobile speed score 65). Now I have started experimenting with GeneratePress theme. Can anyone please suggest a better alternative.

• Autoptimize - For minification and referred of CSS and JS
• Inagify or ShortPixel - Image compression and conversion into webp format
• Asset Clean Up - It allows you to disable any plugin CSS and JS from loading on a specific page.

Get WP Rocket, make sure you have good hosting and a CDN, that will help. You ought to stay with whichever theme gives you the best results, and not rely fully on speed because you can do things to make the speed not matter as much.

get wp-rocket or wp-fastest cache premium. also imagify.
generatepress is pretty damn good for being a lite theme

once you reach a certain speed, any more improvement won't matter much. just get to the ok level.
