Non Public Profile Links

Guys I have a question:

If you create non-public profiles to generate links. Do they still help you rank?
I mean, do google and the other search engine give you credit for those links?

No. If SE's can't see that there's a link on a page, how will they count it?

BUT, those profiles can surely generate some traffic, if you use it properly.

I'd so no, as the spider does not have the ability to spider the profile.
That being said, I've visited forums, which were on Google, and showed some of the post, but when you click the link, they don't let you view it without registering. So I'm not sure if there's an addon that let's the spiders read all the content but not regular viewers, or if the site recently changed to not allow visitors to see the page without registering, and google already had the page indexed.

Why would it? Lol...it's like asking, if your blind, will you find the needle in a haystack?

But don't count em out. If you use your marketing right, they can be far more useful than just a single G backlink.

well, my rational was this:
If the spider screens the forum website, sitemap, etc; there could be a possibility that even though is not public they could pick that created page that is part of the whole domain.

My question to you is: As you mentioned, How can the profile be useful other than the backlink? Sorry I am new at this, I can't think of a way to benefit from a non public profile.

Some sites/forums allow search engines to crawl through data which can be seen only by registered users (Basically those sites have to follow some procedures laid down by search engines so that the sites become compatible for that). Something like a separate username/pswd for Google which the site sends as a gift creating it itself

So in some cases they MAY count.

This topic is relevant to my campaigns because a substantial amount of my profile links are not public.

I'd say you are wasting your time with unpublic profile links and you need to rethink your link building strategy.
