i trying to do Engagement campaign directly to Whatsapp but the ads rejected cause Non functional landing page but theres no landing page at all!!
its directly to the whatsapp bussines so whats the issue?

The non-functional landing page error usually happens when Facebook's crawler can't properly access your page. Check these:

1. Make sure your page loads in under 3 seconds
2. Add proper privacy policy and terms pages with working links
3. Include contact information (footer)
4. Ensure your domain isn't flagged (check domain reputation)
5. Try a different domain temporarily to test if it's domain-specific
6. Use Facebook's sharing debugger tool to see what FB sees

Sometimes having brand mentions in news sites helps with domain trust, but focus on the technical fixes first.

This error often occurs if your WhatsApp Business link is broken, the app is outdated, or your phone number isn't properly verified in Meta Business Suite. Check your connection status and ensure the "Click to WhatsApp" call-to-action is correctly configured without any redirect glitches

Facebook often flags WhatsApp links as non-functional, try using a click-to-message template or add a simple bridge page.

This is a review misclassification, but common.
For click to WhatsApp ads, Facebook still checks the destination. Rejections usually happen when:
  • WhatsApp Business number isn’t fully set up or verified
  • The chat link doesn’t open properly in review mode
  • Missing business info, greeting message, or profile details
  • Temporary WhatsApp or account restrictions
Fixes:
  • Complete the WhatsApp Business profile (name, category, description)
  • Test the click to chat link on desktop + mobile
  • Re submit or request review after confirming it opens correctly
There no hidden landing page Meta just flags broken destinations under that label.

The issue is that Meta's crawler tries to preview the URL in your WhatsApp click-to-chat link (wa.me). If the preview fails or shows an error, it gets flagged as "non-functional." Use a simple, publicly accessible landing page with a clear call-to-action button that redirects to WhatsApp as a workaround.

Meta still treats Click-to-WhatsApp as a destination, so rejections usually come from policy issues on the ad (copy/creative), the WhatsApp Business profile, or missing business info, not an actual landing page.

This is a common issue when reviewing pages because Meta still checks WhatsApp's landing page, and if the business account or chat link isn't set up or verified properly, it will be flagged as an "inactive landing page".

FB treats the WhatsApp click as the “landing page.” That error usually means their bot can’t open your wa.me link/number. Check: correct country code, link works in incognito, WhatsApp Business is verified/connected, no redirects/extra params. Then resubmit.

For click-to-WhatsApp ads, Meta still treats the WhatsApp chat as the destination, so if the WhatsApp Business number or chat link isn’t fully set up or accessible, it gets flagged as a non functional landing page.

This error is caused by Meta's automated scanning system. It usually happens when WhatsApp Business hasn't properly linked or verified the Page, leading to it being mistakenly identified as a faulty landing page even though it's running messaging. Simply check the WhatsApp-Page link and resubmit for review.

your whatsapp business account may not be eligible to receive ad traffic. meta will check the actual functionality of the whatsapp number, such as whether the whatsapp number exists, and whether it can receive messages from strangers, etc. ads are often rejected if the whatsapp number is new, has no conversation history, the business profile is incomplete, has messaging restrictions, or the number has been previously reported or spammed

Most ad networks still require a properly configured destination and appropriate account signals, even when running click-to-WhatsApp advertising. Rejections are usually due to account or configuration difficulties rather than a landing page, so make sure your WhatsApp Business profile is complete, verified, and active. Additionally, verify the ad setup and policies.

Facebook's moderation bot couldn't open your WhatsApp conversation properly, so it automatically flagged the ad as a faulty destination even when no website was present.

I usually find that ads on WhatsApp or Telegram are very easily rejected.
You could try running an ad with a page and adding your desired landing page information or images to see if that works.

Meta still runs automated checks on WhatsApp click links, and if their system cannot reliably load the chat during the review process, it will label the landing page as inactive.

This is a system error. Even though the ad is directed to WhatsApp, Facebook still considers WhatsApp as the destination. If the WhatsApp Business number or ad account is not trustworthy enough, the system will report "landing page not working," not because you lack a website.

This issue often happens when the WhatsApp Business link isn’t set up correctly, the app version is outdated, or the phone number hasn’t been fully verified in Meta Business Suite. It’s a good idea to check the connection status, update the app if needed, and make sure the “Click to WhatsApp” CTA is properly configured without any redirect or linking errors.

Most ad platforms still require a valid landing URL, even if you’re redirecting straight to WhatsApp.

Meta treats WhatsApp as the destination, so if the WhatsApp Business number, link, or BM connection isn’t fully working or verified, it can be flagged as a non-functional landing page. Make sure the wa.me link opens correctly and the account can receive messages.
