Right...ALSO skewing your results. You will see increased traffic from people interested in your progress and what you are talking about rather than from your white hat efforts. And perhaps increased clicks due to 'helpful' onlookers rather than a white hat attempt to get clickers. If you want a true test of the white hatness of it all, a fresh blog that is not publicly presented as your 'testing' blog would be the best scenario~

my first impression of the site was that it looks like an autoblog because of the generic theme. I think if it had more of a personal touch you could really do well with it because of your nice content

Im just curious and a bit off topic. Wouldnt you get banned for automatically submitting to many social bookmarks from the sites, I dont know much about it, for example digg or reddit, what is the daily limit for mannuall daly social boomarking that you are doing in order for not to get banned or something of the sort.

Anyways, there are many free wordpress templates that are good, a quick search would do, depends only on you're taste.
 
Simply on the sheer amount of posts, if you bookmark them well and it is 100% unique content, you will make money.
 
Im pretty sure its in adsense ToS that you need unique content. And also I heard they ban for xrumering.
 
The thing I would change for sure is the font.. unless youre trying to make it look bad so people click your ads
 
I started out with the so bad they click ads, but then I started writing good content. At first I was outsourcing 200 word articles for $1 apiece. I only did this for the first 5 posts.

Trying to get 3-5 posts a day, resulting in 100+posts within 30 days.
 
I clicked an ad for ya...maybe help to double your income on it ;)

Look at lots of blogs and test test test.

Just because you have a manual blog dont be afraid to use some of the plugins the autoblog guys and gals use.

I added a few articles and did some bookmarking. I did find a bookmarking service here on bhw, $7 for 125 social bookmarks. No, it is not my service.

Still working on getting all of the pages indexed...traffic is beginning to trickle in, 15-30 visitors per day (not including bhw). Not much revenue yet.

Added some expedia links for commission junction for the hell of it. Maybe put some zip submits on it if I can find some relevant ones. Any ideas?

Haven't had time to mess with the layout and ad placement yet. I will start fine tuning that when I get enough traffic to do some quality testing.

Also made a squidoo and ezinearticle with a link to the blog in typical bum fashion. Gotta really turn it up if I want to reach my goals. Feedback/suggestions welcome as usual!
 
Looking even better! Good work. Keep posting more videos from Youtube and as your audience watches them more and more, you will probably get some backlinks from the original Youtube page in the video's 'Statistics & Data' section. If you embed popular videos then you may not get a backlink, so try to use new clips or others that have not been played back so often. And, of course, try to embed only Youtube videos, as its owned by the Big G and videos and backlinks from Youtube will increase your blogs PR and authority even more.

I doubt you'll make a lot of money within the first month of blogging, many bloggers don't see any income until much later on in the blogs life, which is why blogging is a problem for so many people who think its going to get them rich quickly. I suggest you use onlywire auto submiter, register 5 accounts and set them up, that'll bring in some OK traffic, I'd also suggest you invest/create a twitter acocunt with targetted followers, at least 1,000.
 
Okay bigtay,

A couple of things you may want to try to get your earnings up.

1. Put a 468x60 Adsense banner before your posts above the fold as they call it. These are clicked on much more than the ads on the right side. It's okay to leave your ads on the right too but you should see an increase in clicks with the top banner added.

2, Make some of your keywords in your posts hyperlinks to your expedia affiliate link. It's an effective change I tested long ago that really works well to increase clicks and revenue. I use it on every one of my blogs because it works. So if you are talking about a flight to Rome make "flight to Rome" or whatever your keyword is a hyperlink.

I really would not worry about your template. Believe it or not my plain templates make more money than my fancy ones. That one still stumps me as to why but I go with what works and what makes me the most money not how pretty the site looks.

I hope these ideas can help you as we were all new to this once and at BHW we help each other.

Just gone onto your blog, install some SEO plug in, it'll help a lot. :) Also, blend in you google adsense adverts nicer, I suggest you use a plug in for that as well, so you can add adverts in the posts as well.

I just clicked one of the adverts for you :)
 
I use some seo plug ins and do some social bookmarking. The xrumer blast didn't do much for me. The good thing about this blog is that I have no real need to earn an income from it and I can take as much time as possible. I am thinking about ordering a package of 100 articles and just posting 2-3 of them a day. I wanted to do this whole thing myself, but I am kind of getting away from that. Regardless, all of this stuff can be done by one person if they just spend an hour or two a day.

In my next posts, I am going to start putting adsense at the beginning of each post.

Not getting much traffic to the site from search engines yet, but I look for that to change in the next week or so. Most traffic is coming from here or the social bookmarks.
