NoIndex pages with "?s=" and strange query string in GSC

Hello,

I can see in the GSC some pages reported (excluded with noIndex ofcourse) with urls like https://domain.com?s=品质% ...
These pages have been requested by some urls that ofcourse do not exist (give 404 error) - like https://subdomain.adomain.com/yxxl/bxxx.html

Does anyone ever seen this?
Does anyone have an idea about what it is?

They're attempting internal search spam, where they try to index pre-populated searches full of their keywords plus a url. Because for some reason this sort of marketing works in some Asian markets. I still don't get why someone would copy and paste a url they saw on a spammed search page, but apparently they do!

block them in robots.txt and the problem should be solved,
even with a noindex tag, they could still be draining some your website crawling budget

This is insane. Both the strategy itself and the fact that people actually copy and search for the links themselves.

I agree. I would like to hear from any BHWers who have done this (the copy/pasting), or who work with this strategy, cuz the idea is totally alien to me.

It is relatively easy to fix.

Just make sure you don't have any "404 to homepage" plugins installed.

Most SEOs, especially blackhatters, installed "404 to homepage" plugins to 'redirect link juice'. However, it exposes you to the risk of this negative SEO attack.
Just disable it and you're fine. Google and its algorithm will disregard the links or 404 pages. However, it you enabled such or similar plugins, then these 'keywords' will be redirected to your homepage which will kill your site SEO-wise
