Hello guys, I keep seeing nofollow farms that my competitors use but am uncertain as to whether or not they would be considered spam by google. Since a good deal of them have links attached to them, I suppose google would consider them spammy but can't be very sure. I have seen pages that made their way to the top ONLY using these nofollow links so they must not be flagged as spam. Do you people have any idea how one can determine whether the page is spammy and will adversely affect your rankings or they would legitimately have a good impact on it?

Nofollow is strange these days because search engines changed how they treat it.

For me the source page is spam if it is like a village bicycle - everyone gets a ride.

In other words:
  • OBL is through the roof
  • links are all over the place in terms of relevancy
  • link neighbours are questionable
  • links are majority and content is minority
  • content is unreadable and poor quality
Even links like this can push to the top at least temporarily. I would be really interested so see how your competitors are doing in 6 months though.

I pulled up my old backlink researches in which I noticed this trend. The guys are still up at #1. So something must've worked for them
